OpenC
This is really just the way of the world and the nature of lobbying in the 21st century, tbh. It's not a Qatari thing, anybody else with a vested interest would be doing exactly the same.
Whitley mag
This is really just the way of the world and the nature of lobbying in the 21st century, tbh. It's not a Qatari thing, anybody else with a vested interest would be doing exactly the same. I would agree the fact the SNP Politician is ignoring all questions relating to his pantomime performance during the week, would testify that cash for questions is alive and well. However, it’s important where all clued up where a lot of these stories re the takeover are coming from and who’s behind them. As a fan base we’ve been accused of being paranoid at times over this, however the above article would suggest where far from that.
Dokko
The PL have been played by Qatar. At this point they just look completely stupid by continuing to delay the takeover due to piracy when nothing out of Qatar can be trusted. Comes to something when we get to the stage of this takeover and the people buying us, with their record, aren’t the most corrupt and underhand party in the deal. PL need to grow some balls and tell them Qatar to fuck off.

Tsunami
Sounds like Fat Sam has taken the Qatari shilling as well as some others. Absolute drivel he is spouting out on their behalf is lifting.

Many of us on here saw straight through it too Shame Luke Edwards didn’t know that, he’d investigated the Mauriss link for weeks before breaking his story. Wilson
Not sure if this story has any impact overall, but surely it highlights to Masters and co the unscrupulous nature of the Qatari’s. They do seem a special bunch capable of bribery at the highest level to get their way. I'm pretty sure he's already aware. You would think so but the fact they appear to have been calling the shots for 13 weeks would suggest despite being unscrupulous they carry a lot of influence. Though that credibility is purely down to the 500 million at stake, the fact remains the PL are allowing themselves to be held over a barrel by a people accused of bribery and corruption. My cynical point (tongue in cheek) was that the premier league will be receiving back handers from them, and that they couldn't give a shit how 'unscrupulous' they are. Tiresias
Qatar will be feeding in their stuff through paid journos, sock puppet twitter etc etc, saudi arabia will be doing the same about Qatar from the other side. Qatar may be unscrupolous a-holes but tbh so are Saudi Arabia. There is some willful blindness among some that seem to think that the premier league and our prospective owners are a) naive waifs who are falling prey to the pure malevolent Qataris and b) that maybe regardless of the tactics involved by Qatar that Saudi Arabia pirating the league a lot is whatever else involved, a strike against our owners. I really hope it goes through, the league have long invited money over ethics into the game and hope it can all do some good, but lets not pretend we're being bought by some lovely old grandma who is being bullied by the mean qatar
