Even if he does come back in February, he's almost 33 and barely any football since 2023. He'll be a shadow of his former self. Ideally we'd be looking at a striker in January, regardless of his injury status.

He will score at least one important goal to put a happy ending on his career here. Willing it to happen.

Chelsea at home and Arsenal away in the last 3 games of the season. He needs to be fit/stay fit before thinking about these things though.

Meanwhile at the Wilson house…..

Callum: “I’m off to training love. I feel great”

Mrs Wilson: “Ok darling, enjoy”

It's a really nice thought that we MIGHT have the chance to relegate them. Shame it's not at Goodison though, being able to relegate them in their last ever game there would quite literally be a once in a lifetime event.

Wouldn't it be great if we had a CL spot tucked away and the chance of sending them down

IF he can stay fit for the rest of the season it could massive for us. Not holding my breath like.

Him and Isak probably the best two pure strikers in a squad in the league. In terms of the drop off in quality from first to second choice.

Yeah don't do it to yourself. He's not been able to put a consistent run together since 22/23.

Also since then his levels have dropped quite noticeably when he did play and Isak's have gone up.

So I'd say probably Villa have the best 2 now for strength in depth. But irrelevant really because by the time Wilson got chance to put any form  and sharpness down he'll be injured again unfortunately.

We should make think one might be on its way, but it should be a trick to get him playing well before we release him. He absolutely needs replacing.

I was expecting him to score a few important goals this season before he got injured again, now it feels like so long ago, not even sure he's got anything left in the locker.

Was just thinking this, after so many setbacks and so little pitch time, in the twilight of his career, what state is he going to come back in? Rusty at the least.

If he actually stays fit from February onwards I think he'd recapture a bit of form by the end of the season like he always does.

But it's much more likely he's back on the shelf by the time March arrives.

Howe is just alerting the medical staff to prepare themselves for the next injury, Wilson's in rehab so he needs them to know when to expect him back...... early Feb, Dengue Fever so we may need to involve the school for tropical diseases

There isn't a font big enough for that 'if'
