I feel really sorry for the lad.  There’s real talent there, and he’s shown it for us in the past.  He’s had so many injuries that it could be combination of those taking their physical toll, and a mental toll as well - his game is about his combination of technical and physical attributes.  The lad might be constantly worrying about another injury.  Total guesswork, of course.  But the current situation can’t go on forever.

He's got the physical and technical attributes to be a top player, but he has seemingly always struggled with the mental side of the game - for us, I have no idea what he was like at Arsenal.

If only we could just take Longstaff's ability to deliver his consistent 7/10 performance every week and marry it up with Willock's footballing ability... Instead we have Willock who ranges from 4/10 to 9/10 with an average of 5s and 6s.

It is a real shame cos Willock could be a hell of a player. There are loads of factors which could be at fault for him being unable to deliver consistently high standard performances and it might take him moving to try to find a club that is right for him to realise his potential. He might get lucky and land on a club that is perfect for him. Then we'll all wet the bed ignorantly.

He's showed up.

He's got better and better as the game has gone on. Struggled until we scored I thought but he's gone from strength to strength since then.

Well that didn't work out

Don't think it was down to Willock in all fairness. We got worse when he went off if anything.

Oh, I definitely don't agree with that. Tonali was everywhere. Unfortunately nobody else was anywhere.

Much better from Willock today. He looked gassed early in the first half so I wonder how his conditioning is. He was much more aggressive today and hungry for the ball and he did some excellent work in transition, really happy for him. Just needs to get into top shape

The game suited him, and he delivered a superb performance.

My opinion hasn't changed though, he ranges from 4/10s to 9/10s with not enough consistency.

I want to see him prove me wrong and deliver a strong run between now and the end of the season. Reckon he'll be done with us if he can't.

having him getting back to sharpness and in the squad is a plus, considering the formation we play so much of it depends on the midfield three and we need any player who plays there to play at a full 100% for the formation to work.

That free header he missed from 5 yards out man

He scores that, we probably go through and Gordon doesn't get sent off. You knew at the time it would cost us.

I'm over it.

Not strong enough physically and is always seemingly off balance, leading to some impossibly clumsy play.
