Kanj
Back in the I hate football camp again. The Rafa fantasy of staying up and becoming a real football club has turned into a stark cruel reality of supporting a club who's been on a downwards spiral to the championship. It's a sucker punch to several years of supporting absolute dross, a sliver of light at the end of the tunnel that was, in fact, a big fucking relegation train. Having to go to the Palace and Villa games, is going to be really painful. My mate is over from the US and obviously wants to get to a couple of games. Probably be gone by the time we play Pardew and then back to Villa Park in May, to watch another NUFC team, destined for the Championship. Oh joy. Kanj
The "what if" of narrow draws and/or defeats throughout the season coupled with taking far too long to hire Rafa + all of the errors made by our players since Rafa took over that led to the goals conceded are sadly going to bother the fuck out of me for quite some time. Lush Vlad
obviously wants to get to a couple of games. Why ? I forgot to mention, he's an NUFC fan and I doubt he'll be coming over again anytime soon. I did warn him when he was looking at booking his trip. That there was a high chance of us being down by the end of April

The draw at home to Villa. the last minute loss to Everton, the points thrown away at home to Watford and Bournemouth. 12 points there, we came away with 1 point. Those 12 points would be enough to have kept our heads above water. We are trash and deserve to go down.

I'm more worried about the state of my well being, not his. At least he'll get kind of excited, seeing the stadium and taking in his first home game. I'm just going to be sat there in disgust. As I'm missing the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket, to watch us get relegated by Pardew

Tsunami
Looking back the defining points in our season were actually pre-season. Appointing McClaren and then failing to buy a proven goal scorer and address the defensive issues paved the road we are on to The Championship. This relegation was totally avoidable; the failure to address these issues pre-season was careless at best, to then ignore them again during January was wanton negligence. Will heads roll; doubt it, Ashley will distance himself from the mess and insist it was nowt to do with him.
AyeDubbleYoo
We could've easily fixed it in January TBH, two dominant midfielders and a left back. Ideally a CB if we were feeling generous.

TRon
It's going to be a bitch finding *cough* legal streams of championship games next year. My first world relegation complaint. Maybe I'll just immigrate and open a pie shop. Shit. I'd more or less resigned myself to life in the championship but now you've reminded me that we won't get much tv coverage as a result of going down. AyeDubbleYoo
I hardly watched any games last time we were relegated IIRC, just checked the inevitable win on the highlights.

I'd more or less resigned myself to life in the championship but now you've reminded me that we won't get much tv coverage as a result of going down. I know Sky have got MNF back, so there will be less opportunities to be shown. But if it's anything like the last time we went down, we'll be on TV all the time. You just obviously won't get much joy with the 3pm kick offs. Being on less, will probably be a good thing, mind. I can finally rid myself of this club and fully lose interest, until the day Ashley leaves/dies.

Figures 1-0 Football
It'll be a fucking nightmare if we go down, so many games on TV - a disaster trying to plan travel to matches home and away, especially because I already have a 360 mile round trip to every home game. Just praying that something happens and we miraculously stay up.
bhoywhonder
Not being a dick but, having had time to contemplate the outcome.....I'm actually not bothered anymore. The worse thing is Rafa won't stay and that's a kick in the teeth following the eye-AIDS that was pardew/carver football and Steve McF*ckwit continuing to steal a living with that sh*t eating grin and pub league tactics. Imagine a whole season with Rafa still in charge, and Mitro, Gini, Townsend, Cisse knocking bricks, pins and party favours out of the likes of Rotherham and MK Dons. Old school away days at Leeds, Sheff Wed, Forest. A derby to not dread now we've broken their bleventeen in a row. It's the hope that drives you crazy.
