So this solis fella do you think he could be our new ceo? Or just a boardroom reshuffle.

No to both

Just an addition to the board

Clearly Amanda would be the best CEO .....

Aye because first time around we didn’t have to sell 70m worth of young talent because of their financial mismanagement

Got any evidence to back that up.

Think Solis becoming officially a board member is significant, undoubtedly already a major influence as PIF’s head of European investment, but think this could signal they’re becoming more hands on with big decisions looming.

Should hopefully streamline decision making process and signs they’re starting to take the show over after PCP departure.

Hopefully big few months ahead with stadium and sponsorships incoming.

Never have any idea what the new shares issues means tbh.

Just a way of injecting cash into the clubs bank account I believe. Presumably just to cover day-to-day running costs.

It doesn't count as income for PSR purposes.

We are not a profitable enterprise so it's basically just to pay the bills.

It won't stop the headlines and tweets declaring things like Saudi owners inject cash as Newcastle linked with Georgian star.

Apart from the fact we had to sell 2 players we didn't really want to just to avoid a points penalty?

That’s not evidence though is it, that’s just looking to apportion blame.
All decisions of that magnitude(spending and selling) needs to be approved by the board.  That we do know as a fact.

That’s a collective decision, so to lay the blame at Amanda’s feet is a big stretch.

Staveley had a management contract to run the club - she said herself if they cocked up they were out.  Staveley, Ghodoussi and Reuben were doing the day-to-day running.  They get both credit for successes and responsibility for failures.

Communication from the club is nowhere near as good since Mandy left imo.

Also, they just were the epitome of "we're all together", they seemed to unite the entire club.

They made mistakes but been the best leaders at our club in my lifetime.

I agree. I guess they didn’t want to deliver the news of the stadium move alongside overseeing the PSR fiasco. Would love them both back on board still as paid employees as they were great at the front of house stuff and promoting the community stuff and ladies team.

Arguably it it weren't for Staveley, we'd still have Ashley. If you still want to hit her with the PSR stick (which would have required selling someone, at some point, no matter what) then please fuck off.

Agreed. The PSR mismanagement is on the whole board surely, not one individual.

I'm not sure why they can't be criticized. They clearly messed up somewhere between July of 2023 and June of 2024 and I think they'd admit to that. All things considered they also maneuvered out of it with a not disastrous outcome.

And none of that tarnishes their legacy or place in the modern history of the club.

Not how I would put it, but the PSR mismanagement shouldn't overule the success of our signings either. Bruno and Isak would rake in big profit if we sold them now. Howe has turned out to be a great appointment, and even if I'm not a fan of having a manager having too much say over our signings, he's got an eye for a player. Nathan Aki and Solanke haven't turned out too bad even if you disregard our players.

Sounds like there's barely anything to criticise there then?

They overspent and overindulged Howe.

BUT if Tonali doesn’t get suspended or Botman doesn’t do his ACL - just one more rub of the green we probably qualify for Europe - with good luck we get into Europa League. Then it’s a gamble that paid off. And they did all of that before they knew PL would be handing out points deductions.

In which case not much point still going on about it, especially when somehow they try to pin it on Staveley specfically.
