PSG can be glamorous. And city group can have dominant teams across the word. PIF are focussing on their own league and I guess they can as they have a proper population. But it’s not going to work. Which all might end up in our favour. If they were more focussed on a European side at the heart of their football thing they would’ve gone for Spurs imo They were interested in Spurs. Levy/ENIC kept asking for more money. I also think that at the time the secret talks over the ESL were happening and Levy wanted to wait until that started in order to get more money for them. Staveley came to them and put the idea of buying us to them instead.

I honestly don’t think we’ll get renders to be honest. We’ll end up with a report that says this is what is achievable, this is what it could offer us, this is what fans/the FAB think, and at most we’ll get what Birmingham City did through the week and give you an outline of a stadium on the proposed site, with the ‘final stadium design to be determined’ marker. People need to be prepared for this. Edited yesterday at 17:52 by Stifler

Spurs are uniquely positioned to become a powerhouse. Already a major player but with no history of winning the big titles - best balance of Saudi’ing up a club and ease of making them a dominant league winning and CL winning side. London as well makes it easier for fancy names. Stadium in the works etc. just super charge them. We require building from the ground up, massive opposition from the rest of the league and UEFA. I think they want a European team at the top table and winning. But the crowning achievement isn’t Newcastle winning the CL and then our 2 star players going head to head in the World Cup Final like it is/was for Qatar. Their ultimate goal atm seemingly involves the World Cup, maybe CWC and the Saudi League. 9 minutes ago, Fak said: Could we afford those players with PSR restrictions on players? No but they knew they had opps and FFP in place when they bought us. Nothing they’ve done in football suggests their number one priority in the sport is to make us a dominant team. But I'm not really sure that should include allowing other clubs to ride roughshod over PSR rules while we just sit on our hands. Chelsea have set a clear precedent, I am guessing Villa will now follow. By now surely the gloves should be off. If I was our owners I'd go ahead and sack off PSR the way others like Chelsea have done. What could the authorities do about it? None of it would hold up in a court of law. Maybe City being on the brink of bringing down the PL rulings is going to make PSR redundant anyway. I just hope we don't lose any potential signings if we are waiting on it. The College Dropout
PIF invested 1bn for a single digit equity of DAZN. Weeks later DAZN get the CWC for 1bn it seems. Wish PIF cared about uefa half as much. Edited 6 hours ago by The College Dropout

Unbelievable
I’m completely at a loss with some of the posts on the last two pages. PIF is one of the largest investment funds in the world, acting for the benefit of one of one of the top 10 most influential counties in the world. They bought Newcastle United as an investment opportunity for over 300m and have since easily doubled that by investments in the playing squad and facilities. There is no sign that they won’t spend anything below what the rules allow and there should soon be an announcement about a billion pound stadium investment. They saved us from almost certain relegation under the fat mess, got us in the CL 2/3 years and won us out first trophy in a lifetime. Yet here we are: posters lamenting that we are not a priority. It’s laughable really. Would you rather have still had Ashley in charge, or PIF spent 10bn to buy us the league in the first year? Surely not!? PIF are being very ambitious owners making all the right calls so far and developing our beloved club to be a force to be reckoned with long after they sell up. I couldn’t be more happy about how they’ve handled things with NUFC.

At the time of the takeover the media said we would have Messi and Ronaldo playing in a rocket powered super stadium that carried out stonings and beheadings once a month.
