To be honest, I think Howe would have rotated the squad throughout this period, anyway. Everybody getting game time to keep their fitness levels up and avoid injury. Unfortunately the injuries hit first.

Yeh I see that point, he wouldn't have taken Wilson, ASM and Bruno out at the same time through choice though.

Definitely not. I think one at a time, two at a push.

This is why I'm not too concerned about the squad. I always felt we could accommodate one back-up in the starting eleven, but the way we've performed without [arguably] our best 3 players, has been revelatory.

Not to mention that Howe has also rotated the defence.

I try to remind myself that one of the reasons I love the guy is how calm he manages to stay all the time. But I would've loved a bit more from him than 'baffled' tbh. We're getting screwed on a regular basis; this isn't going to 'even itself out'.

We failed to buy a RW/CM. Europe is gone. Almiron is probably the worst starting RW in the league.  It will cost us.

Ah ok.

So how many points did you think we'd have from these 6 games? 7-8 is about right?

Today is the first game in which I would say we've possibly dropped points, if you consider each game in isolation. The fact it has come at the end of 3 games in 6 days [no excuse for that at this stage of the season] puts a different light on things.

Full week ahead before Bruno shows his bestie how to dominate the PL.

Even if we'd got the players you wanted, two home wins, a draw at one of the mid-table clubs away, and a defeat against the other plus Man City & Liverpool would have been about right. We've got those same points just a different way.

If the officials had done their jobs in the last week, the discourse would be totally different. We'd be looking at a result at Anfield and a win today.
