'would Nick Pope have played had he not been injured', Eddie just said 'nice try' then went on to explain that both keepers had very different strengths. He did look a bit pensive and fidgety mind, was a bit surprised at that Great question that tbf

Hall in particular is non negotiable, we should be building the team around him. Unlike in the past, we have plenty of other players we can move on if liquidity is required now, too. Can't guarantee what they want, that's true. But I see Hall as being less replaceable than a Tonali.

I agree tbh - top full backs are vital in the modern game, and they’re not ten a penny. Tonali would be more straightforward to replace.
Kanj
Had tino not gotten hurt (and Hall) I reckon we beat Arsenal (or draw) and don’t lose all of those away games. Win at least two of them. At least 6 or 7 points better. Which is top 4. Yes yes you can’t look at football that way but it’s truly night and day difference when we have our two star fullbacks playing. ignoring the howlers from pope too, we were in the bloody lead in all of those matches too! Coffee_Johnny
Stats update on Eddie's reign. Despite frustrating recent form in the league, and low points per game (ppg) for this season, slicing results by calendar years shows that our 1.63 ppg thus far for 2025, is approaching the averages for the previous two years: 1.66 ppg, 2024; 1.65, ppg, 2023. Still a way to go to match that unbelievable second half of his first season coupled with the beginning of 2022-23, which led to 2.00 ppg for 2022. Even if we won the last six league games of 2025 most we could average is 1.85ppg.
Yorkie
Great work, @Coffee_Johnny. 2022 was ludicrous. Had the cup run too.

I don't want us to sell them or anything, but just saying that from the perspective of a potential transfer target with no current affiliation to the club, it wouldn't be unreasonable for them to assume that Hall and/or Livramento could get "bigger club" moves at some point and that they'd have a path to becoming first choice. Fenham Mag
Interested to hear where people rank him as an overall manager in the premier league. I would have him 4th at the moment, my top 6: 1. Pep 2. Emery 3. Arteta 4. Howe 5. Glasner 6. Iraola
Coffee_Johnny
After tonight, if my abacus isn’t working its ticket, Eddie will have managed the same number of league games for us as Pardew. Records are a bit different! Won’t be long until he overtakes Keegan (both spells combined).

Howe probably gets 3rd ahead of Arteta, mainly because he isn't an insufferable twat.

Historically, Emery has won a lot more than Howe. Both are excellent managers though an either can get the upper hand on the other on any given day. Conjo
I wouldn't have any of the other 5 over Howe. He's the most likable, has the best footballing philosophy and has the ability to become the best of them all. At present time, in a ranking, it's between him and Arteta for 3rd imo. The Butcher
Not sure about Pep as the top one. He's won a lot, but always with the top sides with the most money available. Would love to see him at a midtable club. Howe, Iraola, Emery and Glasner have all been more impressive than Pep over the last few years. Imo. Arteta would probably be bottom half on my list. Spent an enormous amount of money. 1 trophy during his reign and that was 5 years ago. Their football is abysmal as well.
AyeDubbleYoo
Pep's probably the best manager ever, never mind in the PL now. Of course he has had great assets, but the best managers tend to get picked by the top clubs.
