We all suspected deep down that Howe would only have the ability and pedigree to take us to a certain point, overall he's been incredible for us, and we all love him and respect him dearly for what he's done.

 

I think the time has come to start thinking about a succession plan here at least from those above, players are regressing left and right, we all of a sudden have a really soft underbelly, there's a lack of fight and desire, the players never look like they quite fancy it when it becomes physical, this has been going on since the end of last season, it's not a knee jerk reaction, we've been getting progressively worse, we never come from behind and get anything, at all, ever.

 

Then you top it off with that derby performance, which might honestly be the softest derby performance I've seen in my lifetime, on top of a total lack of ideas from top to bottom.

 

When one or two players are underpeforming it can be put down to form or bad luck, but when it's an entire team, the manager is the problem and he's not solving it.

£90m wasted on two duds, one of which is the worst player NUFC have ever bought, considering the outlay. Questionable team selections and terrible in game management. Now an insipid derby performance. He's had the longest honeymoon period but it's finally over after today. He will have lost a section of the fanbase now and he can have no complaints.

 

We need a serious rebuild and it's very doubtful if he should be the man to do it.

PIF have already pulled the women's manager. The five year plan is set at getting top level European football every season. I would not be surprised if he's gone very soon as this can't continue, and he doesn't seem to have a clue at resolving any of the issues this season. Get beat off Chelsea and there is a strong chance he could be away. This can't continue and that cowardly set up today will have been the final straw for many. It's just not acceptable. I think he's losing a lot, we don't look at it and nearly halfway through the season. Not like we are just shit against the best sides either, we haven't looked convincing in many games and have lost something and isn't just the striker it's whatever style we are trying to play, just not working and he's not changing it.

I'll add. I'm not sure whether Eddie has the ability to manage well in a season with UCL. I think if we had 1 game a week and training time we'd look far more cohesive, but we don't have that luxury.

Elanga is fucking terrible and tbf I thought he would be decent, worst right winger we have had. Gordon looks like he's lost something as well. We have some good players though and can't seem to evolve as a team, right now we are going backwards.

I want to make it very clear by the way - it's not the result today, it's the nature of the performance. If that was any other manager in our history, there'd be knives out in a big way.

 

Yes, Eddie won the cup and has been brilliant for us and therefore is rightly awarded a level of understanding way ahead of those other managers. But that shit today cuts right though it IMO, especially with the other away day shit shows we've endured this season.

Even IF we wanted to replace him ( I'm not saying we should) We've hired a no mark from forest to do it. I have very little faith at present tbh. I think we lack competency throughout the club.

I’ve been saying for yonks that if the insipid away performances carry on through to SAFC, folks will turn- and quickly.  Can’t say I blame them after that performance.  Far too early to sack him for me.
