The irony is that if we finish outside top 7/8 and don't win any cups, we couldn't get anyone better than Eddie to turn us around next season(atleast with our current squad).

 

Hoped we turned a corner after City and Everton, but sure looks like this will be a season to forget.

Yeah, and that’s ok too. We are allowed to have patchy form. Teams go up and down. It doesn’t have to be so dramatic. 
 

As he’s proven over and over and over again, he’s the best manager we’ve had in the premier league era, and overreacting to every bad performance just seems completely pointless to me.

There’s literally no one out there I’d trust to manage NUFC more than him, so I’d rather just get behind him.

It was an abysmal performance from the players and the coaching staff. Sacking him half-way through a transitional season where we're going well in all the cups and midtable in the league is a genuinely mental suggestion. Judge him on the full season and even then I'd be giving him a lot of grace.

I really don't know where this goes from here. He clearly has limitations with managing a team playing so many games a week. We all know he gets great results when he can spend all week coaching the team for one opponent but if we are ever to be a top team then we need to be competitive in multiple games per week. The balance of the team looks completely wrong, the effort isn't there, there's a lack of creative thinking and even the defending, something that was our biggest strength, is now a weakness, especially late in games.

The problem he faces with me is that everything is so blatant, it’s so obvious.

Today went like pretty much every away game this season. No ability to break a team down, set pieces are a fucking joke, and once we go a goal down the game is over.

The same players who are not performing bad haven’t been for a while etc.

Subs that do fuck all in the grand scheme of things and are often made when the match has been lost etc.

Bruce back in for a week, so we can remember how much better Eddie is.

 

It is definitely a pivotal season for Eddie. The ownership have shown with the women they will be ruthless if they need to. Unless we are flirting with relegation I dont think anything changes until the summer but it could be an uncomfortable ride til then.

Eddie got a lot wrong the day. This season he's not been at his best and I hate the way he lets Gordon walk into the side in his preferred position regardless of Barnes who's played well in the meantime. It sends the wrong message to the rest of the squad. I also think when he's under pressure he's so determined to show it's not affected him he digs his heels in even further. That being said, I absolutely cannot countenance that he should be sacked or replaced. He's earned at the very least the whole season and has shown in the past he's a streaky manager, we have bad spells and then big winning runs. Ones that end in cup finals, Champion's League places and a long elusive trophy. He's time and again been undermined in transfer windows and by a lack of a support network at the club. He's made it so we've ran before we were truly ready so is it a surprise  we're stumbling from time to time. Today was utterly crap and I'm not happy with a lot of aspects of how we've performed at times this season but I'm happy to back a manager who's given me some of the best days of my football supporting life.

- Get to CL knockouts

- Finish in the European spots

- Get to a cup semifinal/final

- Set the record straight in the derby when they come to SJP

Hes been bodied by Keith Andrews, Reggie Le Bris and Nuno. I’m sure we can find someone who isn’t tuned out, a new voice, a new tactic.

I've just said my opinions a few posts up, not saying I want him sacked, just questioning him but I am in the camp that genuinely can't see how he changes things to get us out of this away from home / not controlling games anymore.

It’s not a one-off, though. We will never be a perennial CL-contender if we can’t consistently win away from home.
