Number of top level managers out there. He could be lucky that it's a World Cup year, so that will take a few of them out of the equation.

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) is in advanced talks with men’s head coach Carlo Ancelotti over extending his contract through to 2030. Ancelotti, 66, was appointed to the role in May on an initial one-year deal which runs until the end of the 2026 World Cup.

He isn't available until next year anyway so doesn't matter if they are. Number of other top managers in the same field with the World Cup, as being unavailable right now.

Just to be clear, I don't want him sacked.

 

But I always think it's a daft riposte to just say "Well who would you replace him with?" because it's not my job to work that out.

 

We pay executives vast sums of money to answer these questions. I have very little knowledge of football outside of the PL and I had never heard of Glasner, Iraola, Frank before they came to the Premier League. People like Klopp, Slot and Amorim barely registered until they were heavily linked to Liverpool and Man Utd. Just because I (or others) can't reel off three or four names doesn't mean those people don't exist.

Another bet he placed has really been the story of the season so far. It’s all been about load management to prevent injuries which obviouslt massively affected our last CL season. The plan has succeded in terms of avoiding injuries but the results are obviously not there. 
 

So often we sit back and soak up pressure instead of our signature ultra intense pressing. And I get that. The approach isn’t necessarily wrong. It’s the fact we can’t counter attack which is his biggest fault of the season. Surely having Wissa for that would have helped. There’s scarcely a striker on this planet less suited to it than Woltemade. Pair that with the ridiculously expenseive gamble on Elanga and Ramsay and it all looks foundationally bad.

 

I’ll support him in clawing his way back. We can be sure he’ll give everything in that fight. But at this moment it feels like the tide has turned.

The bigger problem is that if your entire style, system and management ethos is fundamentally ill-suited to the additional fixtures European football brings, and you don't seem to be able to adapt, you basically seal your own fate. He's the epitome of a victim of his own success.

Im not sure it does and until he has the option of using both Wissa and Wolt we won't know.

This five year plan is seemingly dependent on to level European football being achieved every season. This run of the next four games, I honestly think will determine what happens.

I think we'll rarely see them player together unless we're chasing a game, and I can't see one player making that much difference if Wissa replaces Wolt. There are issues everywhere. I'd love to be proved wrong obviously.

It's fair to say, that we'd be known as the most fickle fans in football if Howe is chased out. I think I'd be done with the club.

He is for Germany and within their last two games shown to be very effective at that. Do you honestly really see Howe starting Wolt behind a main striker, as I certainly don't.

Be interesting to see if osula is peddled what calibre of striker is recruited now that may boil down to the fee we get but if its something more than a development player type we could see more changes how we form the attack.

 

I know hes been asked before and eddie is adamant there is more to us than 433 but he just seems married to it at this point.
