Eddie I belive knows we've been shit and doesn't know what to do about it.

But we needed the win badly as our confidence in away games as been shot. Badly needed the win however it comes and he needs it.

Hopefully this is something build on. More home games coming up to really go on a good run and Eddie can tweak things in near future.

He sees a team that's changing, not one that's 'a bit shit.'

Anyone with two eyes and a bit of anything about them should see it the same way to be fair.

We're clearly in transition and it's growing pains at its most textbook definition. I see a lot of small margins that when they don't go your way in the PL you get punished. Like in the match today there was a ball that bounced just over Brunos foot by inches and they gathered possession and were in and around our box immediately. Once we're clicking and everyone is doing the job those small margin moments go our way instead. You see it constantly with the best teams; the headed ball out of the box from a corner landing at their feet, coming away with the 50/50 balls, etc. Confidence in the system breeds this.

It was squeaky bum time and a lot of people were rightfully nervous in the second half but I personally love to hear Eddie talk about that being a character building moment for the lads. The guys out there know it's possible again. It wasn't pretty but it feels less far away now.

Did you watch the match?

I felt exactly like Eddie said, pretty comfortable even during that tougher 10-15 minute spell in the second half. They really didn't create that many really good chances, don't remember any in the last 20 minutes while WE WERE SHITTING OURSELVES hanging on to a lead.

I watched the game yes , we should have had the game out of sight after the second goal but we let them back into it. Once they scored they had us pegged back for the next 40 minutes like I said. Hit the crossbar , missed two or three clear cut chances .

Left back and attacking midfielder with great short passing skills required. Willock needs shipping.

Ramsay and Elanga need to update their games

Yeah those two signings would change things massively, especially if we get a left back who can cover right back too because Tino is just as bad for injuries.

Incredibly after spending 55m on a right winger in the summer we need to go and get another one as well.

Fullback cover, attacking midfielder and a right winger and we'll have a good end to the season but it's a lot to ask for in a January window.

Can someone explain what the ‘transition’ folks keep mentioning actually is, or is it just an excuse for being a bit shite?  Howe’s signings in the summer very much pointed to more of the same.  The formation hasn’t changed.  So what is the ‘transition’ we’re going through?

For someone who calls himself Pata, yours is shite.

We don’t demand a team that tries, we demand a team that wins (by more than two goals).

It's pretty much learning to play without Isak.

Isak was constantly making runs behind the defensive line while Woltemade drops deeper to receive the ball, a fundamental change.

Wissa is a lot more like Isak though but obviously hasn’t been available.

I think this is a clear take on the situation. The Isak summer bullshit is not to be underestimated in its impact on our plans/setup/etc.

I think the other big thing is that we're transitioning into a possession side and that hasn't been our identity since Howe has come in. I think part of this is because it's what Howe wants (to control games) and what the opposition is putting us into because they know we're not as effective when we have the ball a lot so they sit back and just let us continually be ineffective because they're fucking tired of getting pressed by us the past few seasons.

I miss the days of the heavy press, personally (every team looked like they absolutely fucking hated playing us), but I think Howe is thinking injury austerity at this point so we don't go into CL games against Italian and German champions with teenagers in the starting lineup. (I realize we're still in a mini-injury crisis right now too)

I demand a team that tries to improve on absolutely honking past performances. And didn't get it.

Had we been playing anyone better than Burnley today and we would have thrown away that 2 goal lead and probably not scored the 3rd.

The problem is if we are intended to change our style, then why buy Elanga and Ramsay last summer? Elanga is a pure press machine, who simply can’t play other style of football.

Seeing some comments that we were shite is baffling

Was it a prefect performance? Absolutely not. Did Burnley have a spell where they put us under some pressure? Aye

But we scored 3 goals and had 3 other big chances to score (Wissa, Barnes and Gordon), that's not shite

Think it was more that he was buzzing with the win but the second question from the in-house media guy was "why were we rubbish" and he understandably couldn't be fucking arsed with that. I don't think he actually believes he's clueless.

He says towards the end that it's "all about our evolution as a team." He sees a team that's changing, not one that's 'a bit shit.'

I am aware you are an admin so I won't disagree.

I hope things get better.

Be careful, asking us to improve a bit is apparently very offesnive.

I think that’s a very acceptable performance considering our away form.

Are we Howe in or out this week? Hard to keep up

There's nobody that could fill his boots that would want to come here right now.

I am in.

But we can't pretend that we aren't a bit lame. January window could change things.

I am looking forward to next year, the future is bright imo.

It's out unless we win by at least 3 goals, keep a clean sheet and don't let the opposition have any of the ball

This type of holier than thou rhetoric has already run its course after numerous poor performances.

We all want Howe to succeed, being smug isn't going to win any hearts and minds.

I could not give a shit about winning hearts and minds

I find it absolutely tiresome and pathetic people failing to just enjoy the result and take the positives from the performance tonight (Which is that we were the better side and we created the better chances)
