Eddie is still the completely the guy.

He could be doing more though. Think we’ll stay in this cycle (in the prem atleast) of performances until the end of the season. I’ve been hoping for things to click for what’s feels like 3 or 4 months now. It’s not coming.

it won’t be an embarrassing season (league wise). Just kind of blah.

Unfortunately he's brought in a whole load of players who are totally unsuited to the system he wants to play.

Wissa been poor, but looks totally isolated anyway. Woltemade looks like he might be a decent enough number 10, but he won't play with one. Elanga appears to be happy playing in a counter attacking team where he'll have space ahead of him to utilise his pace, but we don't play like that. That's £180m on players who don't look suitable to how he wants us to play.

It’s really baffling like. Presumably he was in a strong position to control our recruitment last summer, but seemingly has targeted players that aren’t plug-in-and play with our system.

I actually think we were the team suited for Elanga’s style about 18 or so months back. Now teams let us have the ball and dig in.

Or how about you keep off this thread as it's clearly upsetting you

Nah i'm in a great mood mate actually as I don't tend to get upset by one-off results, in an average transitional season led by one of the best managers we've ever had, that some suggest the world is ending and we need a manager change immediately at all costs

Think what would help him is some new faces in the coaching set up next season. You can be a great coach, but sometimes you are that close to the action, you can’t see what needs changing because previous ways worked so well.

Some fresh voices and direction could get him thinking differently, and he can lead the new way. Been the same core set up since day one.

You've never seen Howe change formation or tactics? I can't believe what I'm reading

Eddie has said he won’t change tactics or formation himself, just a couple of weeks ago. So what’s not to believe?

If you're in a great mood don't ruin it by letting people get you down then.

As I say 86% of people on here (me inculded) are in agreement with you that Howe is still the best man for the job, so just relax and stop getting worked up about something that doesn't really exist.

He literally changed formation a few weeks back, when Pope went down 'injured', for one...

That's fair comment, the lack of goals is killing us

It’s not even the black and white of goals per se, it’s the total lack of creativity. Work the ball wide and lump it in is the order of play. Absolutely nowt from central areas.

Not worked up at all, not sure where that comes from. Enjoying the forum today actually. Have a good one mate.

Compare the budgets. They are minnows compared to PL clubs.

"Minnows" that have smashed some of the elite teams this year.

But because we beat them they are worse than shite, i guess that's the narrative being peddled now.

Not his fault Wissa and Nick are shite considering they were so far down the list but Ramsey and Elanga were dreadful signings.

He wanted Wissa early on and loads of clubs would have been happy with Woltemade. He’s far from shit and has been out of position in nearly every game he’s played. We just plough on with the system that suited Isak, a totally different player.

I don't think this guy understands formation, tactics or anything else about football. We lost the game so it's the Eddie Out knee jerk nonsense again

Don't disagree but I think if you look back at a lot of games, we keep missing gilt-edged chances whether they're created through our own play or defensive lapses. We're not ruthless at all. It's true we don't create relentlessly though and I would hope that is one of several aspects of our play that needs looking at in the summer.

You as well pal. Just got to remember that people are always more likely to come onto places like this to complain than dish out praise. They're good places to vent your frustration. Far better on here than inside the ground imo.

Eddie is completely and utterly wedded to the 433 and we all know it. I would love him to take us to the next level but we are stagnating because we are predictable. A total advantage to opposing managers. 1/2 the work is done for them
