You're right they are but I'm saying that whenever we've seen Howe and his team influence transfers we've went and bought players who aren't good enough. Pretty much par in cl and some kind draws in the league cup, credit deserved for getting so far but will ultimately be judged by league position. Beat City, Villa, Man U with 10 men and Chelsea away recently. Depends if you class those as expected to beat or not I suppose.

It’s partly their fault we didn’t get CL. I think it will depend on whether we have our ducks in order. If they are in long term contracts, then we can force them to honour their contracts, but whether Howe will want players who want to be elsewhere is something I doubt. We would obviously need big fees if they are contracted long term, but if we are ahead of it, we can recruit replacements before it gets critical. Alex Mc Leish , Michael Laudrup and Steve McClaren won the same cup.. Roberto Martinez, Rodgers and Glasner won the FA Cup and they all got/will get peddled by their clubs We cant afford blind loyalty. We have to be ruthless going forward..Our chairman made a public declaration that he wants us to be #1 Time to start acting it. Just look at Ranieri at Leicester. He delivered the greatest achievement in Premier League and world football history and was still gone less than a year later when things started to slide. I don't think that's true either tbh. The signings summer '25 are questionable as it stands, but until then his hit rate has been excellent.

Some of that's on the players, a lot of that's on the manager/coaches.

Although I agree it's early stages to judge the new people in charge, we'll have a better idea after the summer.

JigsawGoesToPieces
48 minutes ago, Jesse Pinkman said: Howe may be a young manager but I’ve seen no real willingness from him to try to adapt and improve. He plays the same shite 433 with wingers up top every week, and brings on Willock and Murphy every time. I am not sure where this young dynamic coach narrative is coming from? Wouldnt say 48 years old with 750 games as a manager is a young manager like, this narrative of him being young needs to stop now
Dava1892
Think Wolte and Trippier starting obviously gave him questions that would be asked, can see why he went with them though and it didn’t work. Others were off it today also, Barnes for me ball watched all game. Thought Eddie got must subs correct and within good timing, but seemed to panic replacing Gordon for Wissa, that didn’t need to happen. can’t see why we went man for man against that shite, doing so as we seen in midweek leaves gaping holes all over the place. What’s the need for that type of press whilst 1-0 up. Anyway, season over for me, what ever they decide for Eddie I will be happy. Prefer him to stay though.
