Mills and Boon
I couldn't get past the school teacher nonsense. Or that they said Howe couldn't have took them to the heights Iraola has taken them when they both share Bournemouth's highest league finish record of 9th place. Odd pair

Odd pair But there's also fans on here say Howe is our best ever manager when Keegan finished 2nd, not saying her is our isn't - it's just fans opinions of "heights" I suppose with plenty living in the now. I reckon all clubs have them.
Elma
Decent presser I thought in the circumstances. The only bit I got a bit annoyed at was where he said that you want your substitutes to make an impact (in the context of seeing games out). My biggest gripe with Eddie (and I'm still very much Howe in) is his in game management and the reactive, late nature of his substitutions when most fans can see what's needed much earlier. Wissa and Elanga came on with 10 seconds to go just after going down 2-1, I don't know how he has the nerve
Antipode23
Mourinho strikes me as an egotist who sulks when things don't go his way. Maybe that's unfair on him, but it's an impression I can't shake. And as much as I feel Eddie is extremely limited as a manager and needs to go, his character and Jose's are hard to compare.
Antipode23
I'm not sure what to make of Iraola. Can anyone make a strong case for him? I don't tend to follow other managers/clubs all that closely, and the biggest benefit that comes to my mind with Iraola is that he routinely does a number on Eddie. Trouble is you could say that about half the league, so it doesn't necessarily differentiate him.
AyeDubbleYoo
It's incredibly difficult to judge managers really, I basically don't bother. Depends so much on players they have, money they have, circumstances they're in etc.

I reckon all clubs have them. Well the facts, as in points return and cup progression, will tell you he is at least our second best performing manager of the modern era. Clearly our best in terms of cup performances/results. This isn’t taking account of the fact that he actually managed to win a major trophy. Maybe the latter, and his nice guy persona, sways some to say he is the best we have had. Edited April 17 by Coffee_Johnny

As I disclaimed, never said he is it isn't - my comment was just a response to someone saying Bournemouth fans saying he won't get them to the heights of Iraola, in a way you backed up my point of when it comes to why fans love someone there's more to it than highest league position. Clearly wasn't the case in previous seasons, but I think it's fair to say of this season.

Yep, I am just saying that there are better/more valid stats than highest league position. Way more ‘noise’ in that than a comparison of how many points (or cup games) a team has won under a particular manager, taking into account, obvs, the number of games. I respect Eddie for what he's done well. What I don't respect him for is spending 700m (or whatever) and having us deservedly 14th, playing derisory football for the last 12+ months. 13 other teams and managers have his number on that evidence. I think he'll have at least one of the cartel clubs chasing him if he stays in English football.
