He looked pretty good last season and unplayable against us.

Is that why we beat Forest home and away just about every time while he was there?

Tell me how much the other 6 have and how much they've spent in 15 years,  nugget

That’s missing the point. It’s not about what others have spent over 15 years, it’s about the resources he’s had and how they’re being used right now. Those players weren’t just inherited either, they’re largely the ones he identified and wanted. If you’ve had a major say in recruitment and ended up with £220m worth of your own signings on the bench, it’s fair to question both the spending and the usage.

And even compared to others in the league since the pif takeover, that level of investment is competitive with most clubs at that end. Most clubs would expect that kind of outlay to translate into a settled team, not a situation where a huge chunk of it isn’t even being used.

Never mind the big 6 we are 3 points above relegation contenders Leeds United.

I think the ex DoF leaving at the start of the summer doesn’t get enough focus

he ahould have seen us through one window at least especially after being here for a year without a signing, he had plenty of time to get things in order

leaving us in the lurch meant it was all downhill from there

It was fucking appalling, the way it was left, like. Active mismanagement if we're brutally honest.

About time for the Starting XI to argue that bar Elanga and Thiaw, all the others are not signed or wanted by Howe and he is forced to use them or bench them

Why should he have stayed he had no power and would have just been doing the admin work to sign Elanga and Ramsey, they very type of business he advocated against.

For me it’s because he’s doing nothing to address it. The same formation, the same reactive subs, we conceded the same goals we always do, passes astray all over the shop.

I will never ever forget what Howe has done. He will be a man that I tell my kids and grand kids about, but nothing at all is being done to address the issues we face.

You can only use the present to gauge the future imo.

This is exactly it for me, if there were shoots of improvement I'd be more likely to be sympathetic to him, but it's been the exact same copy and paste performances all season for the most part, lots of people like to act like this is just a bad patch but it isn't.

He said it wasn't fit for purpose and he was proven right very quickly.

A change just after their winner again. Desperation.

Aye, I get what you’re saying. I just think he has shown that he can take a struggling team and dramatically improve it. Which I obviously hope he can do again.

Not prepared to get into the semantics, but I will say this...

If Eddie Howe leaves or is sacked, he should have nothing but massive respect from our fans.

Hes been an absolute professional, nothing but class to our club, hes also had some great successes. The idea that someone couldnt at least doff their cap to that, fills me with rage.

I adore the man, regardless of the here and now, no amount of defeats will change that.

Most of the time it’s easier to improve a struggling team that the struggling is not caused by the person himself.

As an indictment of where were at currently and esteem he was held in - I thought when respones and being hurt were talked about, we would get that response.

Didn't mean we'd win at Palace but I thought we'd see something, even just a fleeting 20minutes of being all over them at the start or something.

And we've seen absolutely nothing. Its not even got worse for redoubling their efforts in response or anything, just a continuation of exactly the same dreck.

Its the most consistent I can remember us being.

But the majority of teams above us aren't big 6 teams and literally have spent less than us in the last 15 years.

Its a totally different situation though (I know you know).

Would love nothing more than that mate.

He has no plan B meaning we can’t be successful when playing twice in a week.

He is not ruthless enough to refresh the squad. The lack of activity in January is evidence enough.

For both of those reasons alone, I’m hoping he’s replaced at end of the season.

The risk of replacing him is very low. We’re 14th in the league! Thankfully not enough games left for us to be in the relegation mix! We’re aren’t living in the Ashley era of success measurements - we should expect (not hope) to be finishing a lot higher in the league.
