We have had no capable strikers and terrible goalkeeping performances. The summer we overspent on mediocrity, poor identifying of players, bad planning all those things. All those things aren't solely on Howe- There has been a lot of chaos behind the scenes. He has tried his best and come up short, now needs to fix those holes in our squad. Hopefully we are more prepared this time. Alright, I’m going to put this in a different context to see if you understand. You're out chatting women up. You use the same chat-up line 10 times, get slapped in the face 7 times and laughed at 3 times. The next night, you go again. Do you: a) Use the same chat-up line again because it’s the only one you’ve practiced, and blame it on the shoes you were wearing or b) Use a different chat-up line to try and change your fortunes with the ladies? Probs his fault, at this point everything is. Also I assume he didn’t sign the players we did in the expectation they’d be shit! At what point does player accountability kick in? You are correct. In 2026 most players are massively overpaid mercenaries, but this applies to almost all players in the top leagues, including the ones winning trophies and playing well. Do you know what sanctimonious means? Because you’re being it and he’s not. Sure you could claim he’s being a bit condescending (although I enjoyed it) but I’m not seeing the sanctimony. Sorry probably being a bit thick but not sure what you mean, I believe decent professionals should try hard regardless of them winning trophies or not. I don’t have a problem with mercenaries they normally work their arses off to guarantee the next pay day

I also wasn’t devaluing women, but why let the truth stand in the way of a good bit of wokeness. I am a prick though - one out of three isn’t bad. Anyway, Eddie would kill for one of out three these days…

Sorry it upset your possibly misogynistic tendencies You do know that men chat women up, women chat men up, men chat men up and women chat women up, right? Is it merely the fact that I mentioned women that has offended your sensitivities? Would it be easier to stomach if I corrected the post to a person of non-specific gender identity chatting up other people of non-specific gender identities? Because the point still stands. Well the point you tried to create an analogy for wasn't strictly right like but, aye - I see the point you were trying to make and whilst it may be relevant it doesn't account for the various contributory factors that this season has had. Wolfcastle
After every defeat I somehow see the oxymoronic implication that concerns and criticisms are knee-jerk reactions to one single, solitary game and loss. People being hysterical to losing to Arsenal, is the new hysterical to losing to Sunderland. Meanwhile against the odds were having our worst ever non-Ashley Premier League season but somehow its not warranted or a flawed observation. I dont think people on here are that bad at all tbh. 99% of those criticisng him seem to go out of their way to be as respectful as possible Go on a Liverpool forum after they've been beat and all you'll see are posts like "get this fat bald cunt out of this club right now" And the fat bald cunt won them the league less than 12 months ago Edited April 26 by ianbeany
Pata
3 hours ago, TheEntertainer said: The Poch sacking was fair at the time for Spurs, they'd finished 2nd and got to a Champions League final and were 14th the next season, obviously they've got even worse since then, but I don't think the Poch sacking was unreasonable and they've just made a series of increasingly poor appointments after that, which is always the risk when you twist obviously. The Poch sacking at Chelsea was clearly mental mind but other than him they've had a series of poor managers in recent years after Tuchel. They sacked him in November less than six months after the CL final and a top 4 finish. After a summer where they didn't spend a penny. @leffe186 knows better but looking at it now it looks incredibly harsh.

Miercoles
Can't fucking wait to get back on the grifter carousel. Happy to see How back next year myself, trophy hangover this year and some weird personnel issues. Next year will be different. The only challenge will be not being able to count on six points from Spurs.
ianbeany
"trophy hangover this year and some weird personnel issues." I'll be honest, it still hasn't swayed me but that's a far better and more original effort than the usual "too many matches", "been let down by PIF" type excuses

Their manager celebrated wildly after beating our rather dilapidated team 1-0. We had more possession than them and they were at home. A front three of Osula, Ramsey and Murphy with Willock in midfield. Miley and Burn at full back. We did pretty good tbf. Wait a fucking minute. Why should we set up like this?
