We’re too much of a soft touch mentality wise and that’s as much to blame as tactics imo when it comes to our inability to see a game out.

would love to just see a bit of determination at the end of games to get the 3 points, but we don’t even seem arsed.

Ah. I think I get the problem. You don't know what you're talking about.

That's why you're bringing long ball football and hammers into it.

That's why you think we should play Woltemade in his proper position, despite him playing there more times this season than anywhere else and failing.

That's why you think formation doesn't matter but also it's a problem that Howe is wedded to 4-4-2 at Bournemouth and 4-3-3 here.

That's why you don't think Howe will change from a 4-3-3 to fit a number 10 in the side despite him doing exactly that today.

I get it now. Cheers

The problem is that Eddie bought Woltemade or at least signed off on him and not only is he not suited to playing in the premier league, Eddie cant find anyway of playing him where he's remotely effective. And he cost 70 million. Everyone involved in signing him should resign for gross incompetence.

I understand where you’re coming from with a massive BUT…

…we created next to nothing in that 4-2-3-1 (which actually looked more like a 4-4-2 to me). All the talk on here at half time was how toothless we were. You know fine well how livid people would have been if it ended 0-0.

He made the changes necessary to see us create another few clear cut chances. We scored one of them. So it was the right decision.

Now I can understand why you might then say he should’ve moved back to it after we scored, but that’s all hindsight. We didn’t look like conceding until that one moment of quality from Anderson.

It needed a shakeup in personnel and not the shape.

The shape was fine and we had much better control of the game and a better defensive structure with it int he first half.

Well he ain’t on the pitch

Yes setups etc can play a part but by and large this season the fault has been on the individual players. As was today’s.

So for one last time… what training would’ve prevented today’s?

He’s not on the pitch [emoji38]

We can add a new one to the lack of accountability list

Isak sale

Too many games

Not enough training time

All close games

He’s not actually playing himself

Forest have had 4 games in 10 days including getting battered off on of their rivals and yet if we played another 5 mins there was only one team going to win today

I think that's pretty unacceptable

I really don't think it's much of a stretch that we could have used the last few weeks of training to stop conceding late goals but it's exactly the same

The Sunderland game was awful however if we're being kind we'd had a grueling away game to Barcelona a few days earlier. We then had 3 weeks off(!) and did the exact same thing against a reserve Palace team. A week later we did the same against Bournemouth. We were fortunate Minteh missed a sitter otherwise it could have happened against Brighton. And it did happen again today

We're just doing the same thing as we've done all season. Making subs late or not trying anything new. For all of Elanga's faults we could have at least put him or Gordon on today to try and give us an out ball just to do something different rather than watching old man Wissa walk around up front. Or put Trippier on for Hall who was struggling. Or go to a back 5 which we did relatively succesfully against Brighton (still feel that Minteh miss has saved us mind). If it's a mental thing then bring in a psychologist.

27 points dropped from winning positions all season  - that doesn't include blowing leads against Marseille, Leverkusen and Barcelona.

The issue is we don't seem to be learning at all. That saying about the definition of madness doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result

This one is appropriate too:

"Once is an accident, twice is a coincidence, three times is a pattern."

We've conceded late how many times?

If Howe was playing today we don't concede that late equaliser mind. He gets the clearance off.

We'll be miles better with one game a week etc

Poor Forest have just played 3 games in 6 days. Don't know where they found the energy from for that late equaliser. They should have been running on empty by then.

For people definitely wanting him in, are you happy for more of the same in terms of style of plat, or are you wanting him to change ?

I wanted an evolution this season but from the transfers you could tell that was unlikely.

im Howe in but I don’t expect him to change much.  From the little thing he says like when he said he wasn’t a fan of possession for possessions sake.  Sometimes you need to kill a game on the ball without scoring.  It’s a big reason we’ve racked up massive wins because we always play direct football to score goals. Or it’s defending DEFENDING

Our issues are psychological not physical and we need to replace the characters we've lost and remove the bad apples.

Howe also needs to get some rest.

This PL season hasn't been good enough. They all know that. They will all fix that.

Aw man, you should have said that the entertainment wasn't up to your standards, that changes everything. I mean I remember going up and down the A1 in the back of a Luton van in the 80's/90's and thinking 'we'd bloody better see some decent football today' ️

You were in a van 40 years ago?

Wild.

More than psychological imo, tactical and technical issues as well.

Much like the concept of support.

Each to their own.

We've been fine as we've built for the last 3(?) years before this one. A virus has hit before we've been able to evolve. But we shall overcome as we've done before.

I have to say "well he's not on the pitch" is one of the daftest things I've read on here for a while in defence of a manager

I think a large part of Howe ball is psychological because it’s not the most technical or tactical gameplan.

Most elite football is largely psychological anyway.

Our defending isn’t as regimented aa a Rafa side. It relies on a certain something.

We haven’t evolved, whilst others have. For me, if we can keep the ball better, have more players comfortable on it, then we immediately become better at keeping a lead.

John Carver said that once and got absolutely ridiculed for it.

Just got home. Enjoyed that away end (for the most) and thought we played ok.

Context is key though. Forest were down to bare bones, having played less than 72 hours ago and missing most of their key players.

Conceding late has become a trademark of the season and sadly the buck stops with the manager. I certainly wasn’t shocked when they scored - in fact I expected it.

As I said we played Ok so feel harsh to go too heavy but Hall at RB and starting Burn and Joelinton on the left just blows my mind like. But I know that won’t be the popular opinion.

Honestly he’s making so baffling decisions at the moment; playing Hall RB and Burn LB whilst Trippier is on the bench is crazy, I don’t care if Trippier is leaving. It’s hardly like he was experimenting for next year, we all know what Burn at LB is like.

i also think it’s a bit strange how Ramsey is suddenly getting minimal minutes off the bench. He was one of our best players earlier this year and then just seemed to be dropped. He got a lovely assist today not long after coming on.

Howe definitely has his favourites.

Cannot disagree.

I think we will evolve this summer though. Eddie doesn't rest on his laurels, although it may feel like it this season.

Fingers crossed, I think a DM, who’s good on the ball could be transformative for us. We have been linked to a few as well.
