Massive win today. Sets us up for a critical moment in the season. If we don’t seriously strengthen our attack in the coming window, it will be a huge disappointment. There are no spending restrictions in the women’s game so it is completely in PIF’s gift to do the business that will get us up to the WSL. With us only 3 points behind the automatic slots now, we really should finish the job in the second half of the season.

We also play Birmingham City next on the 11th January.

Georgia Stanway (Newcastle fan) is leaving Bayern Munich in the summer.

If we get promoted we should go all out to get her.

Signing for Arsenal apparently

Match against Birmingham tomorrow has been postponed.

Gateshead move turning out well.

To be fair, given we’ve done no business so far, the postponement may turn out to be a blessing in disguise. Totally baffles me though that our first two games after the break were huge ones against Birmingham and Charlton and yet we don’t seem to have lined up any new signings to be ready for those games. A bit insane when you consider how desperately we need a couple of players.

Isn't it open season PSR wise for this team?

Fair enough if it is, although we still need signings but if not they should have been all over recruitment and signings already.

The new manager is in place and it one that should hold her own in the top league. The team isnt in the best place but it has the future in its own hands for promotion. There must be decent players willing to gamble on that and drop a division.

Now is the time.

Yeah all spending on the women’s team is PSR exempt.

Don’t see why we don’t just blow teams out the water tbh. Would be a drop in the ocean compared to other spend.

Yeah no PSR restrictions, so absolutely no reason we shouldn’t be doing serious business. As @NSG said, we should be blowing teams out the water. Pay above the market rate, get promoted and then we can normalise spend once we are WSL established.

They play West Ham in the FA Cup at home on Friday night at 7:30pm. For those who don’t want to brave the cold, it will be on TNT.

On the right side of 40 at least. Seems as if she plays the full range of the left-hand side. I'd like to see a striker signed of at least the same caliber, as I can't see us going up without doing so. We may as well do so if we intend to challenge, as LCL had to change just about their whole team (who beat us fairly convincingly to the title last year) when they went up.

Just flicking through the channels there and seen these are live on TNT1.  Losing 3-0 against West Ham in what I'm assuming is the womens FA Cup due to the advertising boards around the pitch.

Very sparse crowd there. Maybe 6 or 700.

We've not played too bad, but as usual just not taking our chances.

If by some miracle we got 3rd in the league, this is likely the team we would face in the play off, so the result tells its own story.

A lot of championship clubs seem to be recruiting quite aggressively whilst we don't appear to be too active, so I would be (pleasantly) suprised if we finished top 3 or 4.

Emily Murphy did more in the short time she was on than ... I don't know why she isn't starting as a. she can run b. she can close down and c. she can score. We just need to play like we did in the first 15 minutes and the last 15 (and forget whatever we were doing in between).
