In line with all the other signings made in the last few years, very uninspiring!

I dont get why we havent splashed the cash. Think we should be looking at players in the league above that want more game time, must be plenty of them with contracts coming to an end as they all seem to have such short lengths.

Also wages not being huge either, just small increases would entice them. Pretty shitty that we havent done more for the Women's team imo, makes zero sense.

Hope she proves me wrong but this is the type of signing I would would have expected from the club coming into the championship, maybe.

27, zero full Sweden caps. Not convinced she even starts for us. We dont need competition for the squad we need instant upgrades capable of pushing us into the league above and able to so solidify us there.

Hope she rams it down my throat and is a revelation.

It makes sense if the women's team isn't really a priority. Did they close that PSR loophole?

It's a shame because the funds required to potentially do something special are pennies compared to running the men's team but it was obvious last season that they aren't interested in throwing (relatively) substantial money at it.

To the point about going for it, can't understand why we don't try to a deal like this - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c0jvv7w6ewvo. Pay the release clause, give her a 6 month contract, part as friends when she gets us promoted to the WSL and then leaves for PSG. Win/win all round.

Because that would be the 10th most expensive transfer in Women's footballing history (according to this anyway https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/women-s-transfer-record-history-list-most-expensive-players-women-s-football/blt0df0393298c2ee92).

That would be a massive deal for any women's club and certainly no one is going to pay that amount of money (+ sign on fee/wages etc) to lose them on a free 6 months later.

There's also the fact she wants to join one of the biggest clubs in Europe, not drop down a league.

I get it would be huge by women’s football standards but the women’s game is one arena in which PIF could flex their financial muscles with there being no PSR restrictions. There is literally no reason theoretically why we should not be competing for the WSL and Women’s Champions League in the next 3 seasons. The only limitation is PIF’s ambition, which I have to say, having watched the last year or so unfold, does seem to be lacking.

If PIF did flex their financial muscle in the women’s game the cartel in the PL would collectively shit themselves and strengthen the financial rules to make it even more difficult for us.

Two down.

They've had most of the play, but don't really trouble the keeper.

Charlton have been in the box three times, and have scored twice.

Story of the season. Too much possession and not enough pressing.

Hope I live long enough to see a NUW team coached to stop / watch / put tackles in on  runners and someone say to them 'what do you think they are going to do if you let them go'.

I's say pretty meh tbh.

Part of a midfield who seems to vanish when shit hits the fan, but still early days (says mr. obvious).
