I posed the question earlier today in a different thread, if we had the best midfield in the Prem. Not surprised to see others are thinking along the same lines too. Think it will become more of a discussion over the next few months. It's just such a robust three with a nice variety of elements that compliment each other so well. Very exciting indeed. Funny how flabbergasted he is that we aren't further up the league already. We were just waiting for that final Tonali piece!
Holloway
It's hard not to get carried away at the minute isn't it, the potential is mind boggling as it's such early days. I think it was you who mentioned big J benefiting as well, I noticed how he is surging forward to support Isak too. It's funny how these rival clubs fans think they can just come and swipe our best players for under the going valuation, but it seems to be gradually sinking in that they fucking can't ☺️ Injuries though, they lurk around corners don't they, we need to be equipped to cope with worst case scenarios

They've only just started playing together and so this should only go from strength to strength. Fingers crossed, but it's also looking like they are all pretty durable sorts, and so hopefully that remains the case. I also think that Bunce guy we brought in has made a difference. The squad seems to be in a better place in general injury wise, and we're not seeing as many longer term injuries where we are losing key players for long periods. Yeah Eddie has intimated that Bunce's input has already had a positive effect on the wellbeing of the squad. He can't do fuck all for Callum, though but
Kanj
Bruno’s strength on the ball when a player is on his back side is absurd. Never loses it. shame Liverpool are so far pulled away, we’re a right winger and Botman returning from charging this season if Isak and the midfield stays fit. If we surprise in Jan and the top 2 falter a bit. Bring it on. Edited January 1 by Kanj

Stottie
Its blunder of the season if Man City could have bought him for 80Mish last June, with PSR meaning we would have sold. What a complete shitshow those rules are.
Zero
I hope they fully focus on Olmo and don’t try to come back for Bruno now. We could be back to ECL if Bruno stays.
Kanj
In theory city should sign Zubimendi and Olmo. Would solve a fuck load of their issues.
Kimbo
I’d be surprised if Man City spent big on anyone in Jan with their hearing coming up.

Ronson333
From sky sports: https://www.skysports.com/football/news/32413/13282093/bruno-guimaraes-pressing-evertons-possession-issues-and-why-nottingham-forest-are-masters-without-the-ball Alexander Isak picked up the player of the match award in Newcastle's 2-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford but Bruno Guimaraes would have been a worthy winner. The Brazilian was a key figure in the midfield that dominated the match. "I think Newcastle's midfield can go up against any in the Premier League. It's got a little bit of everything," said Jamie Carragher. "In the first half an hour, they were devastating," added Gary Neville. "They played really good football and they got a grip in midfield." This is the first time that Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali have started five consecutive games alongside each other and Newcastle have won the lot. With Joelinton, scorer of the second goal, they are a powerful trio that had far too much for Manchester United.

The College Dropout
Second half he was the only lad keeping the ball, buying fouls. Still our Godfather.
joeyt
We just take his performances for granted these days. Ridiculously good footballer
buzza
The further forward eight role has relieved him of the pressure and he seems to be enjoying it more and is more relaxed.
Holloway
Thought he was under par today, sauntering along for their opener and getting caught in those deep positions where he tries to buy fouls and it doesn't come off

joeyt
I'm so chuffed we've found a way to play both him and Tonali Thought we'd have to sell one of them to accomodate the other but just absolutely love how well they're playing with each other
