He's had the odd good appearance from what I can remember, but absolutely nothing like his performances when on loan at us. He seems to be regressing as a footballer month by month. Am I being overly harsh?

Edit : He's had a good couple of moments that I can recall, the down-the-line cross into the box from the left, the outside of the boot through ball to Isak, and taking that shot from Almiron's dribble.

Was massive for an entire season at 22 before the injuries (plus the loan spell), but yeah, lets forget about the 50 or so games that he has player really well for us. Outside of those 50 ish games, there's just a couple of moments.

If the 100k a week wage is true we’ll probably be stuck with him for the full length or at least paying big part of them during a loan spell.

Even if his current wages are above his wage value, if we let him go for free he could likely get a signing on fee to supplement his new wage.

I also think it's not entirely accurate that every player is money motivated. He likely wants to play football and if his agent is giving him options, none of them will include him remaining on the same wages... that's presuming he values the rest of his football career.

Feel for Targett; yeah, wages, blah blah... most honest pros like him want their career in football to include playing football and that's not been possible for him for seemingly years at this point. It'll be a bit shit spending your best years just trying to recover from one injury to the next, especially without any realistic prospect of getting into the team at the end of it.

There's nowhere near enough hate in this post Yorkie.

Yeah a loan to a promoted team would be good for everyone I would suspect if he can stay fit, what a shame this signing has turned out to be
