"Indications are that they want to around at least ten years, and will look to help regenerate the city as well as the club. This is a legacy project, not a money-making venture."

Of course....or was this a premonition of PIF & NUFC.

It's no wonder they hate our takeover. It's everything they had convinced themselves theirs would be. From sheer joy of the prospect of becoming the world's richest club and being someone, finally, to it falling through, stuck with the chancers in League one and then seeing the last year of their dreams unfold, but up the road with the people they hate the most.

Its glorious.

I think the hardest part for them is that each club is completely representative of the City they are in. The SofL is a horrible, faded, flat pack shithole on a wasteland, filled will troggs on a matchday. SJP is an iconic ground, overlooking the City, with a team set to compete with the very best.

It must be horrible for them, waking up on a spunk encrusted couch, shambling out onto the street in Pennywell, trying not to trip over the broken washing mashine in the fenceless, overgrown garden. After avoiding 13 year old single mothers pushing dogs around in prams, finally get to the Job Centre to sign on and hear someone say that Newcastle have won again and that they have electricity and everything. All that is left for them is walk to the library to get on the internet, sign onto Groomers and type some incoherent shite about sportswashing, before heading back home, beating their Mams and swapping some child porn for some turps, which they drink and pass out again on their sofa in the same 1998 SAFC shirt they've had on for over two months.

No wonder they hate us so much.

The ones that make me laugh the most are all the ones that type FTM at the end of any shit point they attempt to make ? even better are the ones with FTM in their user name.

My work has a yard in Sunderland, and we do quite a bit of work out of there, or at least around Sunderland. We also have a yard in Tyneside, and Northumberland.

The other day they had one of those domino cards, and everyone was invited to join across the company.

The guy organising it, who I actually get on well with said ‘I just don’t want it to be a Geordie to get it’. Despite being born and raised in Sunderland, pretty much in the city centre, he’s a Man Utd fan.

There was a dirty van around there the other day and someone had wrote on it

’FTM

SAFC’.

Most of them are canny to be honest, and one of who I get on well with there is a Sunderland fan and doesn’t get involved in any bitterness or anything, although to be fair I’ve not known any of them whilst they were riding high and we were getting relegated etc.

There is a few amongst them though that is very much anti-Newcastle before they are pro-Sunderland.

As it happens, economically I don’t wish Sunderland bad at all. I truly believe the region would be better off if we all were better off. Between Tyneside and Wearside (Northumberland & Durham) we once built half the ships the world, and quite literally took the whole world out of the the dark and through the Industrial Revolution.
We both need to be thriving areas, and I can’t get past the ‘Our success is your failure’ attitude there is.

Aye fair enough economically ….personally I hope their football club continues to be utter shite though. They can sit and mumble on about 6 in a row into their twilight years to their hearts content.

Don't think we will play them enough in the next 20 or so years for them to worry about their comfort blanket [emoji38]
