Joelinton7
Strange Dortmund have gone for Bellingham as I read on RTG just before their play off win that he’d only had ten good games for them. They’re going down regardless. Straight down with no drama, no fuss. It’ll be nine months where no one even registers their presence. The PL has gotten immeasurably better since they were last here and they don’t have anything like the tools needed to even compete for a spot between 15th and 17th. Sibierski
Getting £30m for Bellingham, if they then signed Longstaff and Hackney for say £35m combined, they’d be so far better off

They signed Le Fee for about £20 million, have to pay Birmingham 15% of the Bellingham fee, and will be paying for increased wages/bonuses to their players for promotion (Ipswich paid £16 million last year). If you’re factoring in increased wages for being in the PL, you probably have to consider the substantially increased revenue they’ll get just for being there. Not that either are directly relevant to how much they’ve made from selling Bellingham.
Dr Venkman
Aye it’s borderline mackematics, this. They have made a profit on Bellingham. Edited 4 hours ago by Dr Venkman

El Prontonise
Of course they've made a profit on Bellingham. Honestly some in here are as bad as RTG lot. Glass houses and that. Edited 4 hours ago by El Prontonise

Ok, so he's not for you. Ridiculous deflection off Parker and notorious German precise pens. Aye, he was shite. 🤣🤣

midds
I have noticed that they've already assumed that they're banking the whole fee, ignored the currency it's being paid in and all of the add-ons have automatically been triggered too before he's actually signed the deal. It's almost like they need to pump the fee to make themselves feel a bit better And yes, I'm sure loads of our idiots have done the same thing with the Lloyd Kelly transfer too. Football fans are ridiculous at times

Benwell Lad
The kid who has gone to Brighton is the only one I saw who remotely looked like he could make it in the PL to me and even that is based on potential not readiness. And let's be honest €33m or £27m is hardly game changing money when you were 24 points off the promotion places.

Glass houses and that. It's incredibly petty. They bought the guy for £3M and sold him for almost 8x that. We classed Minteh as a great bit of business, I doubt people were talking about Osula's fee when we sold Minteh ffs.
Wandy
Has everyone forgotten that these fuckers are experts in PL drain circling? Won't be in the least bit surprised if they surprise everyone, or the league has a one-off bizarre event where one or two of the regular midtable teams has a disaster season. Never rule out how spawny these cunts can be.
Big Geordie
They've done well to get that much, IMO. Going to have to invest wisely, which is a big ask.

Be interesting to see how they approach it. Sticking exclusively with the ‘youngsters with potential’ route will almost certainly get them relegated unless they scout some real good ones (generational talents you might say…) from somewhere. So how far do they shift to more established players in an effort to keep themselves up?
Big Geordie
I think they'll keep on investing in youngsters - even it it means relegation at the end of the season. Re-sale value and having a good enough team to come straight back up from the Championship. Has to be their model, IMO - same as other promoted sides. At fault vs Poland in 1973, stood six yards off his line for a FK twenty yards out vs West Germany in 1990. Shilton’s incompetence got England knocked out of three WCs. If there is a position that the English are shit at but have zero self-awareness about, its goalkeepers (just beating out centre backs).

Better in the two matches against them, what about the 46 matches over the season, when you were 24 points worse He’s a thick racist cunt, but I think he’ll be proved right re Burnley, who I reckon will end up finishing bottom. The Mackems will end up just one position above them, though.

May well do (I actually think they will totally stink the place out and struggle to beat Derby's record), but you still can't make that assumption based on two games and ignore the fact they finished a massive 24 points behind them
