BlackandWhite
We’ve had just shy of a decade of good laughs at their expense, let them have their one in 100 season. Order will be restored soon, the universe will balance itself out again. They’re so going to face us in no Europe weeks, though, unlike us this season. Fucking squad of softcocks and a management that didn’t get it the first game and didn’t learn from it for the second. Shameful season of derby performances. Get fucked man. We used to save them from relegation every year with our gifts. We’re the daft cunts for thinking this season would be any different.

They’ve got - a setup that has a great talent ID track record and get deals done at sensible prices. - a bunch of talent they can sell on for big profit, if needed. - real characters in the team that gets them through games they’d otherwise lose. - a fantastic defensively-minded coach that grinds them through points. - pragmatic sense of what the team needs and when. - an underdog spirit. They will be able to attract a good calibre of player with European football and their networking. Being able to live in Newcastle will also be a massive selling point. Newcastle better get their stuff together and get this summer right, because I don't think they're going to just suddenly fall away after this season. Good season for them and they’ve ground out some cracking results but some of you lot need to settle down like.
CallumG6
Sums up the absolute state of xG as a stat. Absolutely meaningless in reality, which is what football is played in.

Results are what matters at the end of the day, don’t see any point in underestimating them. I can’t be arsed to check the stats, but guessing Chelsea had more of the ball, XG etc. but you just knew Sunderland would win, because they have the character (that Chelsea don’t) in their team to get them through and that can often be the decisive difference. Scoreboard82
Disappointed, because I begrudge them any happiness whatsoever but it's all relative. They had to play 2 divisions below us not so long ago. It's their 1st time in Europe for over half a century while they've had to sit by and watch us win a domestic cup and play in numerous European campaigns over the years, including some in the elite European competition. I'd like to think this will be a rare European adventure for them and a rare season where we're not involved but who knows?
Chicken Dancer
No matter what anyone says, it’s fucking embarrassing these cunts came up, comfortably done us twice on their way to finishing 7th and qualifying for the Europa League. People will try and play it down but if you’d said that to me last summer I’d have laughed in your face. Absolutely shambolic, no dressing it up. Fair play to them though, dreamland.
