TRC
As there are a lot of links at the moment, there doesn't seem to be a solid guide online for transfer reliability I've put the framework together for a source reliability. Source can be journalist specific or the outlet itself. If mods can clean this up as more suggestions are made, and not everyone will agree, that would be great. Tier 1 - Excellent Source - Fabrizio Romano, David Ornstein (Athletic) Tier 2 - Good Source - Pete Graves (Sky), Luke Edwards (Telegraph), Chris Waugh (Athletic), Craig Hope (Daily Mail), Di Marzo (Sky Italia), Lee Ryder (Chronicle), Keith Downie (Sky) Tier 3 - Average Source - Mark Douglas (inews), Simon Bird (Mirror) Tier 4 - Bad Source - Graeme Bailey (90min) Tier 5 - Avoid - Mouth of the Tyne, Sean Casey Edited June 14, 2022 by TRC

The Prophet
Good shout, on Newcastle stuff I'd say something like: Tier 1 - Excellent Source - Fabrizio Romano, David Ornstein (Athletic), Chris Waugh (Athletic) Tier 2 - Good Source - Pete Graves (Sky), Keith Downie (Sky), Craig Hope (Daily Mail), Lee Ryder (Chronicle) Tier 3 - Average Source - Mark Douglas (inews), Scott Wilson (Echo), Luke Edwards (Telegraph) Tier 4 - Bad Source - Graeme Bailey (90min), Simon Bird (Mirror) Tier 5 - Avoid - Mouth of the Tyne, Sean Casey

I think he's dislikable, but nonetheless connected in north east. Got Benitez too IIRC. Edited June 14, 2022 by Jagten

And Romano, how much does he get right? They are mostly all gobshites that know nowt!
Doctor Zaius
The arsehole Burnsey and Sean Casey shouldnt even be mentioned within the same post as professional journalists.

These accounts have a following, so I think its worth mentioning, not everyone will know they are bullshitters unless you are on twitter enough. Mouth has 18k followers and Casey 10k they get enough traction to warn people imo.

Nucasol
Hope and Caulkin have strong links into the club, so tend to have a bit more credibility in my eyes. Douglas has diminished now he’s working the whole Northern football beat. Insightful stuff on deal structure, mechanics etc once the story is out but not the one breaking the story. Kid Icarus
Graeme Bailey/90 mins is absolutely right as a bad source. Consistently wrong

NWMag
Ramano is as reliable as they come, it might not all be his own info but he only really puts stuff out there that is pretty much guaranteed, if he says it’s happening then it usually does. TRC
Regarding sources I will add in any glaringly obvious ones I have missed, otherwise I will leave it to the mods. Bailey and Edwards seem to be the most divisive so far. Bird tier 3 then?

Romano is a tap in merchant as mentioned previously but his info, while usually summarising what others have said, is spot on and pretty much has to be with his whole 'here we go' shtick. Bird basically does pressers and match reports and fuck all else.
