I mean that's quite a short sighted view. He's changed systems within the 433 a few times. He's changed loads since he arrived here. And he likely won't drop Joelinton, no. Unless we get a new starting CM, which I doubt we will this window as there are other glaring priorities. Theres not a CM on our bench that should displace him either.

He's also just won a cup and got CL football playing the system he has, so I'm not sure there's much need to change it.

 Nobody knows that 100% it’s a moving target. You get over €40m for getting into the CL QF alone in prize money for example.  Crashing out early and having a bad campaign will have a material impact on PSR - as will league finishes prize money. 
 

And then the rules are likely to change next season for uefa and the pl.  

 

All suggestions for this summer indicate we can have a meaningful spending spree. But our overall PSR approach isn’t entirely clear.

Back to JP.  Brighton fans think he’s a sulky player. Bemoan his body language. Obvious elbow incidents.  Seem to think Rutter and Welbeck have a better partnership and JP has main man syndrome. They big up his work rate and dribbling ability and penalty taking.  Surprisingly little in the thread I read is about his ability.  He’s seemingly Been angling for a move from last summer.

Saw some Brighton fans say up until whatever happened the other week he was fine. Watford fans seem to think very highly of his professionalism/workrate too.

He has changed to some games or because of injuries. His go to plan is 4-3-3. If he buys players that suit totally different formation, that changes all the pressing and defending and everything. 

I don't see the point in buying Pedro unless it is that we are trying to take advantage of his situation in Brighton and him wanting out.

But we've been in for him previously? Nearly signed him. So we obviously have a plan to play with him in the side?

Looking at that heat map on a previous page, he's actually a good Joelinton replacement for when you're trying to break down teams that sit back. Which we've struggled to do. He's occupied the same space in attack. You get better quality on the ball, better link up play between him, Gordon and Isak and sacrifice the defensive side of Joelinton for when it's not needed. Much better goal threat too.

Yea, that is what I am wondering. I would think he starts at RW and drifts inside. Hopefully he is not seen as a Isak replacement.

He'll be both a back up to and play up with Isak. Honestly think he'll displace Joelinton in some games and play further forward with Tonali and Bruno behind. If he can play wide right too he's actually a completely sensible signing. Thats 3 positions. Could maybe cover LW too. 

I thought he was a RW at Watford tbf, but I cant remember entirely. Might be wrong there.

I dunno, I sound miserable but I really hope all these links are smokescreens because I don't like any of them
