The calculations are correct but it doesn't work in that way. If we went and spent 400m we would have to undergo massive sales later to balance the books.

I have no clue about this fu... retarded PSR.... Makes me so upset that fu... Liverpool behaves like a vulture... Damn this is so stupid and against any logic... Investor wants to invest $ into business but it can't due to stupid Cartel's regulations...EPL is so stupid to allow those shitty regulations.

According to AI input:

If Alexander Isak is sold for £125 million, Newcastle United would still gain a massive PSR advantage, though slightly less than the £130–150m scenarios floated earlier.
📊 Estimated PSR Impact at £125m Sale
•     Original purchase price: £63m in 2022
•     Book value now: ~£31.5m (due to amortization over his contract)
•     Sell-on clause: Real Sociedad gets 10% of the profit (~£9.35m)
•     Profit for PSR:
•     Sale price (£125m) – Book value (£31.5m) = £93.5m
•     Minus 10% sell-on (~£9.35m) = ~£84.15m PSR profit
This figure would be booked immediately, giving Newcastle the flexibility to spend up to £420 million on new signings if they’re amortized over five-year deals (i.e., £84m × 5).
🧠 Strategic Upside
Even at £125m, it’s a game-changer:
•     Clears the PSR bottleneck for multiple windows
•     Funds reinforcements across the pitch
•     Allows Newcastle to operate like a top-six club again
It’s still bittersweet, but the logic is sound. And given your knack for spotting systemic trade-offs, Adrian, this is one of those rare cases where selling a star could actually accelerate the project rather than derail it.

I know AI often makes mistakes but hopefully we can move forward...

I've just asked Alexa what she made of this whole situation and all she said is "Isak's a cunt"

Liverpool did exactly what they are supposed to do, they saw the food on the table and ate it. It's up to us to stand up for ourselves and not fold. It was all in our hands we decided this.

 I've been a fan for ages but I think tonight is the first time I've ever been embarrassed by the club, even in the nadir of the Ashley era it was a disgrace but I wasn't embarrassed. I was ashamed of the club but understood our predicament.

Tonight is an embarrassment. To draw a line in the sand and then step ahead of the line to accept a cut rate price after all of the cynicism and disrespect is fucking embarrassing. That bald freak Slot constantly having a go at our club in his conferences "I hear Alex isn't playing lol" and being rewarded, the Ownership completely misunderstanding the moment isn't even infuriating its just embarrassing.

 I'm trying to sleep but I wanted to type it and fuck off because I'm sat here feeling like I farted on a crowded elevator and I couldn't understand why.

Doing it at 1am is embarrassing as fuck as well. All window we've been like "Do they work on the weekend?" And on the last Sunday Jamie found his phone long enough to cut this discounted fuckwit deal. Now tomorrow we'll wonder where the urgency is when it comes to strengthe ingredients the club they actually work for. It's a fucking joke.

I said weeks ago I’d be annoyed if we went under £150m. I hate the fact we could have avoided all of this at multiple points in the last year.

We’re left with about £91m profit, which I like to divide by three for a reasonable look at what it allows us to do in terms of annual cost. We also save approximately £6m in wages, plus Isak’s amortization cost.

In essence Isak’s annual cost has turned into Woltemade.

I can come around if we turn this into a second striker and a midfielder, but not holding my breath on that for tomorrow.

Despite feeling low the transfer fee does need some context. I think this is the third highest upfront fee ever? And a top 5 fee including add ons?

Mid-range fees have gone completely mad but the top end hasn’t had the same level of inflation because there just aren’t many clubs that can spend like that. Time will tell if Wirtz and Isak is the beginning of that ceiling going up, but if I’m betting the Isak fee will still be no worse than top 10 all time five years from now.

We have a lot of rational sound posters on here that would be respectful, thank Isak for his service and wish him well on the next phase of his football Journey.

Not me, I'm a spiteful fucka, I hope he snaps his Skinny Judas back in these next two international games.

Good luck finding one of them.

Then they are fucking idiots I'm sorry to say. He has treated the club like mud.

Newcastle need a striker

Wolves: stance and price that matches the situation

Brentford: stance and price that matches the situation

Liverpool need a striker

Newcastle who also need a striker, keep getting quoted stances and prices that match the situation and currently have one of the best strikers in the world with 3 years on his contract : how about we knock £20m off the asking price to you, the club that unsettled that player and stopped us getting our number 1 target? No? £30m off?

This is the defining comment imo which perfectly illustrates the absurdity of what we’ve done.

Both Brentford and Wolves aren’t even to be praised for some show of strength, they’re just doing the obvious thing.

If Wolves sold us Strand Larsen for £35m without a replacement in I would think they were insane. Yet here we are doing exactly that, but somehow far worse under our particular circumstances. We’ve absolutely fucked it.

I’ve seen better negotiation skills on fucking Facebook marketplace for a fucking wooden chair.

If it does happen I feel this way completely.

Embarrassing is the word 100%.

I agree it's shit, but it's not quite the same.

JSL has played through this period of bids.

Wissa probably more similar, but even he has trained.

Isak clearly has taken it that far it's impossible to re-integrate him so we've had to bite the bullet for the detriment of value but for the good of the team.

Not signing a striker before the close would be mental though, although I think we'll sort something.

So we received 130m. It is not ideal, but I don't think it is a terrible deal. It's still a lot of money for 1 player and we can come out of this well if reinvesting properly. 150m in hindsight was a bit unrealistic in the PSR era. No club will pay that and if we wait till next summer the fee could be less.

The club have made a huge mistake here in rewarding Liverpool and Isak for their underhanded tactics. It was imperative that we made an example of Isak and of Liverpool. Now everyone will be tapping up our star players because they know they can.

Surely another forward has been agreed as there's no way they'd be that stupid to sell then try to negotiate. Even still, the repercussions of this will be felt when we lose the likes of Tonali.

If we don't sign the striker we might as well just write off the season, be absolutely stupid to go into a season of 4 competitions with Woltemade as our only striker with him being new to the Prem.

Pay the stupid money for Isak/JSL or sign Jackson and I can understand selling him but if not the club has fucked it.

I hope his groin injury gets worse and he's limping round Anfield managing 5 games a season by next year. Then it would turn out to be excellent business.

Otherwise I think I'm coming round to the view that we've absolutely fucked this. If we get someone passable in tomorrow then I'll reduce that to 75% fucked it.

damn trying to be still positive about it...but looking at the numbers... our best striker didn't perform his best since we won League Cup....plus you never know when he will be injured again. The fuck perhaps gave up on us after we won our EFL Cup.
