Alexander Isak: has a chance to play against Everton (Howe)

I think Liverpool could afford them if they wanted.

But they're probably gonna find the next Salah and Van Dijk instead for a fraction of the price, such is their brilliant recruitment

It’s not just the £150m, you’ve got £20-£30m signing on fee/agents and then £300k a week if he goes for that amount.

nobody is spending that this summer, probably even next. Then Barcelona, Madrid and City might be looking.

but we’ll be multi-premier league winners by then so they can fuck off.

can definitely see a big new sponsor/shirt reveal/ Isak 9 promotion in the summer

Cannot see fsg howking 150 million out mind.

This is what I don't get

Liverpool fans complain every window about their lack of signings.

The last two windows they've only signed Chiesa for £10 million.

Van Dijk was a world record transfer fee for a defender when they signed him.

Thats the other thing with Liverpool..

Salah, Trent, Van Dijk all potentially leaving on a free. They'll need to spend some wedge to replace them (even if not directly but in the squad), so £150m on one player is unlikely

They are on course to win at least one trophy this season and will definitely be in the CL next season.  So if they don't have the funds to replace them, it does call into question the fees being paid at present anyway. I suppose you could argue that Liverpool have the PSR headroom to spend whatever it takes, but just don't want to. Then that calls their ownership into question regardless.

It's not that they cant afford to replace them, but they have managed to get a situation where 3 of their top players might leave on a free at the same time and non of the replacements will come cheaply. They've already spent a decent wedge on Marmalade as well

The alternative would have been to sell those players before they got to their final year. That begs the question would they have had the same success with replacements?

No way he leaves us for fucking Arsenal now anyway. That's pretty much a lateral move.

If he does leave it'll be to Man City/Liverpool/Real Madrid etc.

He's already outgrown Arsenal

If you sell him to one of the top premier league teams, you're setting that team up to dominate the league for the next 5 years.

No amount of money is worth that.

If and when we have to sell him, it has to be to a club on the continent.

I've said this previously.

As a matter of principle, especially with the so called top 6 conspiring to make things difficult for Newcastle, he should under no circumstances be sold to any of them.

This is what Spurs had to put up with for years with Kane. The media were selling him for about 5 years before he left Tottenham. I can't see it this summer for Isak unless it's a superclub or possibly Liverpool as a panacea to the fanbase should they lose Salah and Trent. That being said I don't where they stand from a PSR point of view as both of those would on free transfers so not much incoming unless I'm mistaken. Summer 26 depending where we are I'd say is far more likely.
