Tbf if Isak does go there’ll be plenty money to throw around

Aye, but late window when prices are sky high because teams can’t get replacements and a lot of the best options will already have gone. Not the time you want to have a lot of money really compared with early in the window

It's inevitable, ideally he's gone next season and Howe is right, which if he can give us another 20+ goal season then no qualms with it really, expected.

If he goes this window then my sheets are never recovering.

He want's the new contract. We seem to have no one at the club to sort that...His head is naturally turned to the extra 150k a week so he's unsure where he see's himself right now?

Typical Newcastle...the wealthiest club in the world but the only club that aren't allow to advance by spending that wealth.

They should fuck PSR off and just take he fine at this point - it's a fucking joke the whole system.

Definitely. Everything hints towards a want-away player.

I think Liverpool will be back with an offer early next week. Hopefully not less than £140m. Next few weeks are gonna be super stressful, as we already need three top players.

So Liverpool are going to buy Rodrigo, Ekitike and Isak?

Well, it is genuinely significant to say our biggest star player suddenly didn't feature. They aren't gonna ignore it.

Not only didn't feature, but travelled with the team and then was sent home.

I think we come out good either way as we'd be getting a fat stack but something is definitely awry.

Agreed this could all be sorted with a new contract offer. Surely the club can temp hire someone and get it fuckin done

Can you imagine if we go into the season and CL campaign with Osula and Gordon as our striking options

Gordon could be off as well if they sell Diaz

Ekitike isn’t done. They’ll walk away if they can get Isak

If Brentfords manager came out and said Wissa was happy at Brentford he was confident he'll beat Brentford at the start of the season we'd all be sitting here saying there's another target we've missed out on and for us to look elsewhere.

Liverpool are getting Ekitke and Arsenal Gyokeres, which team(s) are people now worried about that can come in and offer us silly money for a player who Howe has said is happy here?

I think people read too much into what Howe say, he really doesn't give anything away. If he is sold the fee would be astronomical, and then that would leave us with a room to improve BUT we really dont have time to get enough players in before the season starts.

There has been rumours about Isak for long while. If he decides he wants to go and goes on a strike, then I guess he will leave. Only then.

Howe has said about what you'd expect him to say, although I was surprised to see he sent Isak home or whatever.

Its just the old 'hes happy here BUT..' line, its all he can say really. The reality is he could leave or he could stay and Howe cant say for sure which way it will go, if he does leave Howe will probably be the first to understand why a player might make that decision because careers are short in this game.

Would that still be the case if Brentford's manager said Wissa travelled with the team then by mutual decision went home, due to the speculation surrounding him?

In context, the quotes are odd.

Ok. I’m clearly in the minority, but watching Eddie’s presser it seems pretty honest to me. Obviously not an ideal situation but nothing he said or implied particularly makes me worry about him leaving. I mean, he clearly says he will travel to Singapore and he’s confident he’ll be here at the end of the window.

My guess, though, is that we may need to put our money where our mouth is, not necessarily on Alex’s demands, but his agents.

Still fairly relaxed because - given the moves his potential new teams are already making - I don't see where he goes to. Not good that he's rattled by the speculation, obviously.

Absolutely loathe the transfer window, like.

Yeah but that wouldn’t be the whole story would it. Add in Wissa getting sent home because his head was turned, add in Brentford manager saying they’d had a conversation and he understands career is short.

Wouldn't be overly fussed if he was carrying a knock like Isak is and wasn't fit to play.

Howe has never had to manage speculation over a player of Isaks calibre before, so it's also a learning curve for him perhaps on how to handle it. Maybe he said some things in that presser he could have left out or rephrased. No idea.
