Isak going basically ruins our season before it's started - we need to find a way to appease him.  It's no use getting money for him when we are already struggling to spend as it is.  I can only see Liverpool as a likely destination and they need to get Nunez off the books first.

reasonable argument that keeping him now, with the baggage and now further signings limits the season even more.

im convinced Howe wants him gone now and backs himself to strengthen squad with 4 or 5 quality additions

Just now, Slim said:

Saudi club buy Nunez for 100mil on the understanding it's used to fund the Isak 200 mil deal

That's some Saudi 3D Chelsea chess i could get behind, in fact make it £200 million and £300million for Isak

If we signed a flop like Nunez it would absolutely cripple us. Liverpool get to flog him to Saudi for an inflated fee and add £300m worth of attackers in one window. Proper sick of it all like [emoji38]

Made this point elsewhere. If we tried to flog a flop to Saudi for a minor loss it would never be ratified.

It still annoys me that NUFC are the whipping boys when it comes to Saudi involvement in PL football, all these other clubs are benefiting _quite_ a bit from it but no, point over there at NUFC, ooh the morals, ooh the morals I tell ya <counting money from dodgy player transfers to Saudi clubs all the while>

If we stepped aside for Ekitike, sold them Isak and then handed over £70m for their shite striker I’d start to question reality and whether or not I’d fallen into some kind of outer realm hellhole

Despite beating Liverpool in a cup final and qualifying for the Champions League for the 2nd time in 3 years we're still in a position whereby we're forced to sell our best players due to the growing financial disparities between the Septic 6 and the rest. It's a fucking joke

Let's be honest, the league has become a predictable bore fest. No one can compete with the top 4 anymore.

On top of that, it's been announced that a ticket in the east stand for the wolves game will cost £72....falling quickly out of love of modern football. Shit day all round

If you are still around it has not happened quickly like 🤣

Football has lost its soul a long time ago.

Feel like it was a piss poor move on behalf of Isak to not get on that plane today. He's really let his teammates and Eddie Howe down imo. It's one thing to agitate for a move, but downing tools while you've got 3 years left on your contract is a classless move whatever the context.

Just look at how Mbuemo conducted himself during that saga with Manchester United. I can only imagine how frustrating it was for him seeing how long negotiations were taking and he was maybe tempted to down tools to weaken Brentford's hand, but to the very last day he reported to training and pre season.

Now some time has passed, I still reckon it's 50/50 whether he stays or goes.

Before today, we already knew that Liverpool want him + that he'd listen. This isn't new information. So why not throw a strop last week, pre-Ekitike? He hasn't (yet) committed to properly submitting a transfer request either, suggesting that both options are still open. Admittedly, a new contract is now a long-shot.

So reject the £130m rubbish, dig in + by September it'll all be behind us for another year. It's in his best interests to then be professional. I think next summer we'll still get £120m but this time with some preparation for it.

We hold the cards.

Downside being stuck with a player who thinks he is too good for us.

Yeah just thinking about team morale, don't doubt that he would be professional.

Just wish it was sorted earlier as any decent forward would have thought they were coming in as a back up.

If he goes at least the targets will know they will get game time and be the main striker

Wissa will be delighted then

Also, you can't expect to win things without the best players. Who you can't keep or pay for (even if you have the money?!) without winning things.

This is ouroboros-ball, manifest!
