I don’t know if anyone has said this already (the forum is really long) but does anybody think that Isaks’ agent has a responsibility for the problems occurring now. Looking back you have to think he was badly advised when he signed. His agent should have understood his potential and had a realistic release clause. Even a perceived high release clause at the time of say 85 million would look very shrewd now. Our side did well to resist one and should receive substantial credit for this. Moveforward 18 months and I suppose it’s not a massive jump to suggest Isak’s team realised their error and tried to insert one. Difficult for the club to accept at that stage…….

~£120 + Nunez would solve one part of the short term striker situation and also put Newcastle in a better position negotiation for Sesko/Wissa.

Should still be possible to sell Nunez for £30-40 or more next summer as well if it doesn’t work out.

Guehi was absolute dogshit for the last half of the season. Was utterly rinsed inside-out up here.

I was referring to his reputation as a human being not as a leather kicker…..

The thing is we were the biggest and best club in for him at that point. Others had scouted him (including Liverpool) but his second season at Sociedad he'd switched position a little and had an iffy goal tally despite a 6th placed finish for the club (10 across all competitions if memory serves). So we were the only club ready to pay what they wanted.

You can't post a kid in the punchable faces thread, right? That's wrong?

I mean, that photo is from 11 years ago so he's probably fair to take a swing at by now

Good point. Still massive credit to the decision makers at the time to get such a player whose stock has risen so much, and it appears they have managed to do so without a release clause.

Just on a side note, saying hes world class shows how the current strikers class is quite poor compared to the likes of Shearer, Henry, Batistuta, Van Basten, Ronaldo etc

He is world class right now. If he keeps this up for another 10 years im pretty sure we will mention his name in the same sentence as that lot.

Same goes for just about every player his age. No current player his age can be said to hold the same respect as players who played for over a decade at the highest level. So no need to compare just yet

Are we seriously debating whether he's World Class?

Yeah we’re in the realms of “I always thought he was shit”, just like when you got dumped and said “I always thought she was ugly”

They should be paying US to take Nunez. He's comically shit.

One of my colleagues was in his class at school and she says he was absolutely Newcastle daft.

Isak sold for £130m and Jackson bought for £100m doesn’t sound like the best thing for us

Well let's hope reality doesn't mimic whatever Bizzaroworld you pulled that idea from.
