I don't understand why we can't go fully public - we value him at £180m or whatever, we won't sell him after 1st August for any amount because we won't have time to source a replacement and if that's a problem for Liverpool then they should have prioritised Isak and not spent £200m on two different players before making their move. Not our problem they now need to sell to buy.

Honestly, I think it's because the absolute divies are gearing up to sell him to Liverpool and think it's a smart move.

I reckon the fee is agreed in the background and it’s ducks in a row for both teams

Still think there's a chance he might stay for three reasons.

1) Liverpool need to sell to buy.

2) We'd need to drop our asking price.

3) We'd only do that if we have adequate cover in i.e. Sesko and Wissa.

No idea why Isak and his agent haven't just waited rather than shaft the club and themselves. There will be no shortage of suitors next summer.

Etikite is a striker. He’s not playing on the left.

I don’t see them spending £200m on strikers either.  In the same window. To bench one.

Maybe. If they sell Nunez I guess they would need another striker.

I get that its hard to see Liverpool buying Ekitike just to have him as a backup to Isak.

But for me its harder to see Isak risking his reputation without already knowing that Liverpool wants him.

ekitike is the Diaz replacement in the squad

If Diaz goes they will need to replace him and there is a lot of talk about them going for Rodrygo who wouldn't come cheap.

I can't help but think he's too late and his opportunity is gone - Ekitike aside they've Wirtz on their squad list down as a Forward.

After initial denial and defiance to spitting my dummy out and transcribing to the worst possible scenarios I am now feeling a lot more level headed about the situation.

I don't feel like this deal gets done this summer, I think Isak will sign a new contract to up his wages and be told he can go on his merry way next summer and he will be happy with that. It just doesn't make sense for us to allow this to happen at a cut price deal when we could command a better price next summer and he could have his pick of teams.

I also think that with the right additions this summer and a strong season he may not even want to leave.
