I get brinkmanship or chancing your arm if I was a liverpool fan I would want my club to try and do good business at a good price but its around rice/ Moises Caicedo'se money its laughable if they thought it was a serious offer. I'd say 110 million is not an offer that will be accepted, but not laughable. Their first offer is the fourth highest transfer fee ever. That's the starting point for negotiations. Wirtz was apparently 100 milion quid plus up to 16 million in addons. Isak was reportedly £110million plus addons. It's all a game. They want to unsettle the player to try and get the price down, as they should. It's a shame Isak's playing along so easily. That's my main gripe really. I don't have a problem with the way Liverpool are doing things. Doesn't seem much different from us and Guehi last summer.
Zero
I would like to point out that all these ”Newcastle will only do business after getting a replacement first” ”Newcastle wants 150m” ”after getting a ST in Newcastle is willing to sell at 150m” are kinda bullshits spread out by Liverpool / those journalist. We didn’t mention any of the above. Yasir can still tell Liverpool to fuck off after signing Sesko or Wissa, or tell them Isak won’t go at any price. Don’t be brainwashed by the media. We didn’t say 150m would do it.

Izakaya
£110m is laughable. Glad to see us display some semblance of testicular fortitude.
Palestoon
Interested to see if we become more willing to negotiate if Sesko comes in. Would the 150 mil evaluation come down to 130? Would love to see us hold him to another year regardless

No wonder Liverpool thought they could just pinch him for 60 cents on the dollar.

This time next year with a years worth of contract having ticked over £120-£130m might do it but now his value is at least £150m.
Vinny Green Balls
Worth is not only in cash. If we’ve been fucked with, it is worth it to hold out for me. Once again, these pricks took our top target. Whether we get Sesko or not, they need to pay an absurd amount or absolutely go fuck themselves. Vinny Green Balls
I’d happily take less money later if it meant standing up to the cartel now, and letting them know that we are not a farm club for them. These fuckers should be worried about us. Edited August 1, 2025 by Vinny Green Balls
Palestoon
The story was, we were looking for someone to play alongside Isak... Would love it if we brought in Sesko, got Liverpool excited and then told them to fuck off again. Edited August 1, 2025 by Palestoon

Adrian1881
Liverpool fans think we will sell them Isak since rumor is we can get Sesko now? I still hope that Isak stays and wins the fans over. I think PIF should do better job after this clusterf...

duo
I feel they had no intension of paying what we want - hence all the unsettling of Isak and media leaks to try and drive down the price. They still need money for a CB don't forget.

It doesn't make sense to talk about transfer fee records as if they have any actual relevance. The transfer market is so inflated, especially last 1-2 years, Chelsea have paid 100m+ for multiple DM's since we got taking over. Isak is basically a one of a kind, and whilst I do feel it's best he goes now, we can't allow ourselves to be rinsed because of his behaviour. So, for that reason, I wouldn't sell to Liverpool for 150m, tell them to gtf and we deal with the situation or they pay what he's really worth. Pandamninator
I know there's no chance of us actually going down this road... but... imagine https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/jun/07/liverpool-virgil-van-dijk-southampton-drop-interest Quote Southampton are confident that Virgil van Dijk will remain at the club next season after Liverpool were forced into a humiliating climbdown over their pursuit of the player. The south-coast club were furious to read stories on Monday that Liverpool were primed to complete a £60m move for the Holland centre-half and they reported them to the Premier League for an alleged illegal approach. Southampton felt that Liverpool’s fingerprints were on the stories and they questioned how there could have been the belief at Anfield that Van Dijk wanted to join them given they had made no official approach for him. Moreover, they wondered how – as per the reports – Van Dijk might be so keen to play for Jürgen Klopp if he had not spoken to the Liverpool manager.
