We may have missed out on Sesko so the club might dig their heels in but the damage is done. Players and supporters pissed off with him. Get as much money as we can but get rid.

Your logic is fine if Liverpool are willing to pay the asking price or even near the asking price. 

 

But you can't allow your best player and a rival PL club to unilaterally agree that a transfer can only take place to that club and allow that to artificially lower the price by £30m by taking out all competitive tension from the transfer process.

 

In the same way, we cannot demand Wissa joins us for £15m because "he only wants Newcastle"

I think we mean staying at the moment. Since every top striker seems to have signed for someone else. 

 

If we got just Wissa for example, there's no way we should let Isak go.

I think people are more saying it out of hope than expectation because they don't want to imagine us entertaining a lesser option. We might though, could see us moving for Ollie Watkins or Nicholas Jackson next.

I've said consistently that  I wouldn't let him leave for less than £140 million. Can't say any more than that.

I am pretty sure Liverpool wont make another bid until they have in writing that PIF does overpay them for Darwin "Flop" Nunez

They bought him for 65m+20m addons from Benfica, flopped badly and still about to get 60m or so from PIF for him. fucking madness.

what we should do is make Liverpool offer 150m for Isak then straight have another Saudi club offer the same. that way they cannot come with the related party shit and fair value as we have the same value bid so it must be fair value. only trouble would be to then push Isak to choose Saudi club, but I bet they can make him a salary offer several time better than Liverpool to make him think.

Selling him to Liverpool feels like admitting we have no intentions of challenging for the league for the foreseeable.I just can’t get my head around why we would want to strengthen Liverpool. So many teams in the past have told bigger clubs to piss off when they come sniffing, it’s happened so many time to us. It’s only a few season ago that Liverpool were an absolute shambles. They win the league and they are suddenly billy big bollocks, cunts.

They've been one of Europe's bests for years under Klopp.

The closer we get to September, the more they'll panic. Ideally we get a signing in and tell them the price is fixed regardless of what he does or what Romano writes.

If we don't sign at least one striker, arguably 2, he's not going anywhere this summer.

 

He can be as pissed off as he wants about it, but there's no way he's thick enough to think that's an unreasonable stance for a professional football club (one that's qualified for the Champions League no less) to take.

Whilst we're all in doom and gloom mode, there's another (even worse) scenario that's been causing havoc in the back of my mind the last 2 days.

 

It's not entirely impossible that there is some truth in the talk of a groin injury. Isak ends up staying with no replacement signed, no large fee banked and he either requires surgery or breaks down completely first game after the transfer window shuts.

 

We end up with Osula and Gordon rotating at centre forward until January.

 

Yep, I'm feeling like a proper ray of sunshine today.

No, first team back in tomorrow, but Isak been in again today for treatment on his 'minor thigh injury'.
