After the first international break before he's in the squad I reckon.

Aye, I was thinking the same. Obviously won’t be until the window closes as he will be pushing to go until then.

His 2nd post says that we don’t believe that there are 2 suitable strikers left on the market, and don’t believe that Liverpool would even bid £150m.

2 days ago he was saying that the Newcastle board had blocked the transfer altogether. He's a fucking terrible journalist.

He'll want to be available for the CL. Would be brilliant if Wissa comes in and hits the ground running so he's stuck on the bench a bit longer than he hoped though.

Do people really think a few goals and all will be forgotten?

I find it really hard to see him playing for us again after what he's done.

Is there another example? I guess Rooney did something similar but not as bad.

Looking at other cases just like this, its usually that simple yes.

Gerrard the obvious one.

Kane another one

Suarez and Alexis Sanchez as well

If we don’t sell him, then he has to come back into the team.

It’ll never be forgotten, but I’m sure Howe will tell the fans to back him and then we will.

The reaction when he doesn’t quite close down aggressively as we want, or if he misses a few sitters, will be interesting…

Dubravka got a lot of support after he left us and then returned. So there is still a little hope.

I honestly can’t think of many cases where a player has pushed it this far and still managed to get back into the first team. Sure there are examples of players who have asked to leave but stayed professional about it such as Messi in 2020, Kane, Guehi and in those cases the club and fans have pretty much moved on. But to this extent? Even with Howe’s magic I reckon it’s going to be extremely difficult.

It's a relief if true that we don't see two suitable strikers on the market, and therefore may be reluctant to sell, because that is also my feeling. The worry all along has been that we are allowing the tactics of Isak/Liverpool to pressurise us into a decision which does not serve our interests as a club - so if that is their conclusion, I hope that we hold firm.

Wish he'd stfu like, every day it's a different, contradictory story.

Just comes across like the only thing he cares about is not being caught out. Clearly has such a poor line to the truth so constantly peddles all options to cover himself

I think hes saying the board have blocked the transfer because of the conditions he mentions in his second tweet.

If we want two strikers of sufficient quality before letting him go and we don't believe those players are currently available (Liverpool signed one of them...) then that doesn't contradict his article from last week.

Harry Kane to City.

Also means we’re fucked if / when Isak doesn’t put any effort in for us too though.

Liverpool clearly being told to put up 150 million or fuck off. Looks like club have come to conclusion after Šeško we can’t find anyone as well.

They thought they’d unsettle him and we’d be forced to sell him on their terms.

He’s not going anywhere time for him to knuckle down, or throw a year of his career in the bin.

Suarez? There was the whole £40m+£1 carry-on, he wanted to leave to play in the CL, stayed at Liverpool and scored 30 PL goals the following season.

Kane scored 17 the year after Man City were after him and 30 the year after. He went AWOL during preseason and didnt play the first few games. Plus he was "One of our own" so arguably an even harder one to come back from.

Can't deny that is possible. If anyone can get him and the fans back onside for a season it's Howe but a very difficult situation for sure. The dressing room, his relationship to the fans and to Howe, the media spotlight etc would all be impacted too. I have a feeling like some others have said it may be that Howe would prefer him to leave for the above reasons but the board lean more towards keeping him at this point in time.

Really hope the Wissa deal goes through to at least give us some kind of insurance

So he’s unequivocally not for sale but the board have told you Luke, the terms on which we would sell him. All within the same tweet thread. The mind boggles.
