If our reaction to today is to lower the price and sell our best forward then there's no saving us.

I feel today may have pushed the needle towards no longer entertaining Liverpool's bullshit negotiation strategy of unilaterally  lowering the asking price by the hour, and instead trying to plough on with Isak for the next 4 months out of pure necessity

Very interesting that in Romano's video tonight he clarified that what he means by Isak to Liverpool being on...is that Liverpool are optimistic it'll happen.

I do think it's going to happen but it just goes to show how far something as potentially hollow as a buying club's optimism can be spun into something solid.

But aye, have a word with yourself whoever posted that shite.

Aye, apologies for posting the words.

Not sure I need to 'have a word with myself' mind.

He's been saying that every day for a month now. Liverpool's optimistic it'll happen, Isak only wants Liverpool, and it's all on Newcastle.

The only way this deal happens is if we give in and take a fee no higher than 130. So, 120 up front and 10 in add-ons is the most Liverpool will offer.

If we don't agree, they'll tell Isak to wait until January.

This is a right mess, isn't it? Brentford and Wolves arent giving in on their forwards, and it looks like we won't get those deals done unless we pay a ridiculous amount, but Liverpool wants us to accept their price for our player. 😂

Truth is if he goes for anything below 140 we have bent over for them.

Isak should be a British record buy and sale. Not just a British record buy.

Keep the cunt and if we’ve got some money still to spend sign a player who can play a killer pass instead.

We might have signed that player already in Woltemade.

Craig Hope's saying in his video that we'll probably just take 120, maybe 130 if we push it, but that's it.

He also says we used some of the Isak money for Woltemade, so the Liverpool deal will be done fast 'cause we need the cash. So not getting another forward does not stop the Isak deal is my reading from his comments.

A right mess this is. I hope he is wrong, but it does sound the most likely outcome here. Isak has pushed us into a corner with his antics, now Liverpool are going to bend us over in that corner and we are going to accept it. Then go and pay 70 m for JSL or 50 for Wissa.

We are really desperate it seems.

As I said the other day, he leaves more openings than spaghetti junction.

If Isak leaves without another striker coming in, and I think we have a massive problem keeping a hold of Howe.

I really hope they're not stupid enough to go down that route for the sake of balancing the books.

Definitely feels like a sliding doors moment.

All bases covered, a few days ago he said the deal is unlikely, now he is saying the deal was always going to happen.

If we take that low offer of 120m plus add-ons, it makes me think Isak totally messed up and ruined everything burnt bridges with team mates and management even the board, pushing us to a point where we just wanted him gone.

If that's true, Liverpool played it perfectly, just like Hope said.

They get the player all the top sides want at their price and not ours.

I reckon Howe wants to ditch Isak. Now, to get a new striker, we'll have to cough up a fortune. Wolves have lost all three games, looking like they're in a relegation scrap with Brentford. Goals win games/points, so they won't let their strikers go unless they get a crazy offer.

Stuck between a rock and a hard place is where we are as a club right now. Am sure Howe can see that.

The bolded bit especially makes no sense, as the next PSR deadline is a whole 10 months away.

People will be born whose parents haven't even met yet before we need that money.

Joyce Liverpool tier 1 said they won't go higher than 120m sorry if giggs

Sounds like they're saying 120 is a good price, and we should be happy Liverpool's offering that much to help with FFP, especially since they're taking our problem player. They're being so respectful and fair, right?

They tapped up our player, he went on strike, they beat us, messed up our transfer window and start of the season, and now they're lowballing us for our best player, and they have had a decent start to the season. Might be top by 7pm tonight. Whilst we on 2 points.

Welcome to the big time, lads.

We should be doing two things now.

Telling this shit stain that we will not sell him to Liverpool no matter what they offer

Picking up the phone to Bayern and saying to them "I heard you were looking for a striker"

Absolutely absurd if true. I know PIF want to cash in on 9 figure asset before he tanks his own value and I also understand and appreciate that Eddie & the squad want to get him to fuck, but the club will lose a lot of good will from the fans if we dance to the dippers tune.

If we cave in at 120m, I won't be held responsible for my actions.

I wish sports reporters could be held accountable for any misinformation they share.

They may get tip offs from agents on incoming/outgoing deals but let's not pretend they know the in and outs of other clubs boardroom discussions.

It's about hedging their bets and stretching a story as far as they can for clickbait.

Hope is one the best at this as he can add extra negativity to any story based on the current mood around the club.

He could flip this and be a strong voice for the club but he seems to love a crises / clickbait for his own satisfaction

I hope the club stick to its guns and turn down any offers below 150 mil.

I know most of us just want to see the back of him at this point, and im sure most inside the club feel the same...but its too easy a way out for him after his behaviour.

I want to see him crawl back in a few weeks time with his tail between his legs, and face his teammates, the staff and the supporters. Or rot in the reserves for the next 6-12 months thinking about what a cunt hes behaved like.

Thought of him forcing us to let him go below our valuation because of his childish antics, and then watching him turn up at Anfield all smiles with slot makes me sick. Force him to take accountability.
