In a team that is almost purely about transitions and exploiting space and going in straight lines then yeah he’s a very good fit. In general play otherwise he doesn’t have much to his game, and never has. He’s not an awful player, but to where we wanna go we need more than he offers. Expand There isn't a secret. They all work really hard, they've got players who love to defend and work hard. 2 CBs are proper defenders. Yates is an absolute shithouse. Anderson and Gibbs-White have energy to burn. Then they have pace in wide areas and a striker in the form of his life. There is no pressure on them to attack teams. They sit and counter.
