Sibierski Posted Friday at 06:55 Share Posted Friday at 06:55 That Man Utd game just reminds me of last season 4-3 under ETH against Liverpool. Built as a big turning point, but most people outside of Man Utd knew it was the end days, followed by continued poor league form. Trophy at the end that just papered over all the issues. TaylorJ_01 Posted Friday at 06:57 Share Posted Friday at 06:57 That was yet another embarrassing French performance. They seem to just buckle under any pressure. Aside from that, a few questions - why did Toliso get sent off? I couldn't see any touch at all? - how was that a Casemiro penalty? - foul for the final goal? 54 Posted Friday at 07:17 Share Posted Friday at 07:17 Some quite massive games today that have implications at both ends of a load of leagues. Yorkie Posted Friday at 07:26 Share Posted Friday at 07:26 Followed the mayhem on here last night but only just caught up on the highlights. Aside from my utter dejection at what's happening to that competition, my main thought about that game is: is this really where we're at with commentary now? Is that really what viewers want? And, if so, how many spikes am I allowed on the mace I'll use to batter them with? The slide to having club 'representatives' on comms has quickened a lot over the last few years but even the more obvious cases hold their professionalism to some extent. Last night felt like a shark jump. Any vague pretence of neutrality was utterly absent and it shouldn't be like that; it's basically not commentary any more. Made worse of course by the voices themselves. Not sure you could find two bigger melts than Ferdinand and Savage.

Been saying this for years, getting Carra or Neville screaming "Get in!!!!!" when their clubs are playing against yours isn't what anyone wants to hear. Remember when Ray Wilkins (RIP) did commentary on Chelsea games and would refer to the players by their nicknames when he was a coach there. Next step is to get the YouTuber cunts involved. Paullow Posted Friday at 09:21 Share Posted Friday at 09:21 Derby vs Luton at 12.30 on Sky is a really big match. Luton will be at least 5 points adrift (of safety) if they lose, with only 3 games to go, but a win would take them level, and potentially more in touch with the sides directly above Derby. Punditry has really degenerated to such a horrible state, whether it’s organic or whether they want this as it’s good for clips, I don’t know but it’s horrible. The girl who does co comms on BT, I think Lucy? She is actually really good and one of the only ones I like listening to. Very knowledgeable and actually seems happy to be doing her job. Last night was reprehensible.

How it works in football, you will win trophies eventually. Just the real top ones (Prem / UCL), you actually need to put consistency together against sides that have equal spending power at the top end. Mind you, her mum's definition of a good husband was one who "takes you out once a week and doesn't beat you" - so each generation moves on a little I guess. I've never got over Sky having Niall Quinn on co-comms for one or more derby fixtures in the mid 2010s. Mazzy Posted Friday at 11:44 Share Posted Friday at 11:44 Some really awful decisions being made by TV broadcasters this Easter period. Today's offering is shocking, I understand that all the game are on SkySports+ which is great but on the actual channels they've chosen really poorly. Same goes for the weekend games, obviously our game tomorrow has alot riding on it, two tops teams still fighting for Europe. But then Sunday is absolute trash. Ipswich Vs Arsenal and then Leicester Vs Liverpool. Two terrible choices. The only slim hope is that Ipswich put up a proper fight against a tired Arsenal. Monday is a little better with Burnley Vs Sheffield United on. Atleast they're both title challengers.

Reeks of when corporations and brands try to get in on things that whether we like them or not were people-drivem things to start out with. History usually tells us that when it gets to that point, people are turned off by it and move onto something else that'll end up in the same position. Its that time of year where its been 6/8 weeks since the TV picks where made, and games that where thought to be going to be consequential when they where made, just aren't now. Though I have no idea what they where doing with them Sunday picks, Liverpool have had the league wrapped up since what feels like Christmas.
