Stifler
6 hours ago, Nobody said: The Premier League should have to pay for any upgrades they are required to make to their ground. Was a case here in Sweden when an unfancied ice hockey club got promoted to the top division and had to make a bunch of improvements to suit the leagues standards, then got relegated and couldn't keep up with the costs of their new arena and then went bust. The problem with this is that our FA and other football authorities do not give a single fuck. My local non-league side got relegated this season, despite finishing just outside the play offs. The reason being is that their ground wasn’t up to standard but they gained the funding to do the work this summer. The work would have been done in time for the new season and it made no difference at all, but still they went ahead with it, even on appeal. You have the case of where clubs have been in financial trouble so the EFL stopped them playing games, which would have brought in revenue. At the time the actively helped negotiations between Bolton and new owners, but told Bury they had no time which made them go bust. They allowed Wigan to be taken over by an owner they had reason to suspect was going to immediately put them in administration so they would be relegated and win a bet. They they have the points deduction, and Wigan were relegated. The EFL’s own chairman tried to sell out all of his clubs so the top 6 clubs could have greater control and more finances of the game, just before the ESL super league plans came to light. The FA allowed Wimbledon to move to Milton Keynes, and only changed the rules preventing it from happening again after fans across the country kicked up a fuss. Ironically it was almost Luton themselves who got picked up and moved there.
astraguy
So they basically need to rebuild a whole stand in 3.months? That seems insane
toon25
I know it's a long shot, but how glorious it would be if Everton go down today

Guest
Luton going from top flight to non-league and back in about 35 years is some journey. Bet their fans have been through the lot. Edited May 28, 2023 by Optimistic Nut
Guest
I hope Coventry are able to stick around too. The likes of them, Ipswich, Sheff Wed should be like WBA, Watford, Sunderland, Boro, Norwich where they hover between lower Premier League and Play-Off contention in the Championship. Dokko
So nice not being involved at the bottom and can sit back, relax and watch it unfold. Had a table booked at the local for 4pm, just rang up and said they won't be showing any football today....so now not sure what i'm doing for it. LionOfGosforth
So of the 3 "relegation" games, who's watching what? I was thinking Leeds vs Spuds might end up being the most dramatic with a few goals. I think Leicester win and Everton probably scrape it as well.
