Don't understand this tbh, I never watch the CL because it's boring as fuck. The EL and Conference League always entertain.

That said, I'd much prefer NUFC in the CL, of course  It'd be different if we were in it, but all matches not involving us would be just as boring as they always have been.

The quality of football in the CL is the best the sport has to offer. That part is super enjoyable. I mostly watch Madrid and it’s understated how excellent and enjoyable to watch players like Fede Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga are and they aren’t even the star players. Watching Valverde is like watching Sandro Tonali (a brilliant player) on steroids.

I’ve super enjoyed this new league format.  The quality of matches has been superb and the competition is hot.

By the time it gets to Thursday and Spurs - I’m footballed out. Like watching a Man U is painful.

Forest didn’t do it as a gamble though. Everyone has changed the narrative to that they did, because 2 and a half years later they are having a good season.

When they got promoted, most of their players were either out of contract, or having to return to their clubs after their loan deal ended. Even if they never got promoted, they would have had to buy a whole new squad.

Aye but they didn’t need to buy 30 something players.

Forest did gamble in respect that they actually tried to stay up. They weren’t even a parachute payment club like Fulham or Bournemouth.  Apart from Leeds who never bothered to sign defenders - most (non parachute payment) promoted clubs don’t even attempt to stay up.  I think FFP has blocked Leicester from giving it a real go but the rest don’t try.

Forest came up and slapped the money down for late 20s Chris Wood. They meant business.

They lost 26 players that summer.

At the time I thought they'd done what fulham had done a few seasons earlier and there was no way changing so many players would result in a cohesive team that would stay up even if the talent was there. They did struggle but cooper got them over the line. I thought way to stay up was keep core of team that got promoted and try and bring in a quality spine to the team. However considering how well it has gone for forest, and how all the teams coming up have kept their squads together and really struggled i am questioning my own reasoning on this, maybe complete overhaul is the way.

Imagine this time six weeks ago saying we'd win at Man United, Spurs and Arsenal. Surreal week or so.

Surely the only one that is a surprise is Arsenal? Us and Spurs are both having two of the worst PL seasons in our history.

Give over, we were sat in 12th wondering if Eddie would survive the next few games. The last week has been borderline miraculous

We'd just been hammered by Brentford, while Spurs were battering City and you'd just appointed Amorim. It seemed canny unlikely.

The last time we won at Old Trafford in the league we were dancing to disco due to its resurgence in 2013.

What? You had won 4 on the spin before playing us whereas we had lost 3 in a row, with a new manager playing a new system. Spurs had just drawn at home to Wolves and lost to Liverpool and Forest before you played them with Ange already under serious pressure.

Dressing it up as miraculous is weird tbh.

I totally understand why you'd be filled with apprehension given the previous record, but we've always been much better than you. That's not the case anymore, so I'm not sure why people think history would repeat itself. Teams are constantly coming to Old Trafford these days and breaking 30-40 year winless records.

Tbf if yous had started Mainoo yous probably would have been good

Feels a bit like Howe playing Clarke early on and his red card against Norwich being the catalyst which transformed us.

When I saw that midfield I put £20 on Newcastle -3.

I for one would like to revel in our glory. If we beat Bromley then it's our best winning run in 33 years despite having played Arsenal, Villa, Man United, Spurs as part of that run. Slice it any way you like, in our history it's miraculous and we're going to enjoy it on that basis.

You've beaten us under Howe when we've gone into it the better team, so whether it's that we hadn’t won there in 3 years or 12 years the point still stands. Records weigh heavier on clubs than people appreciate imo.

Yeah fair enough. Just feels to me like you've been good for a few years now and I'm not really surprised by these wins.

Big 7 innit. I'm just saying a member of the big 7 beating other members of the big 7 isn't surprising.

I think a few of you are just struggling with the transition of becoming a good team.
