There was some speculation on here at the time that the possible Liverpool switch might have turned his head. It might be that the stats don't back that up, I don't know. Not having a go at him, I think he's class and on his day unplayable. But Barnes to me has added more on LW late this season, and Murphy is better than either at RW. What a season he's had. Ellis H
The people wanting rid should remember how he helped save our season last year with all the injuries we had. He played injured and knackered many times when we’ve had plenty of players over the years who didn’t want to play even when fit. He absolutely deserves the benefit of the doubt and our support, not us “being open to selling him” because he’s out of form. No doubt if he scores on the weekend this will all be swiftly forgotten until his next bad performance.
Zero
And I don’t understand WTF is wrong about his attitude? Didnt try his best to press? Being selfish? Start to blame his team mates? Showing laziness on the pitch? I watched nearly all his minutes this season and I saw nothing of the above. You can say his form dipped, and you can say he didn’t progress in the way we expected, you can also say he should control his temper better during important matches, but it is fucking shit to try to escalate this to the level of “attitude problem”. Gordon looks like fucking saint to me comparing to the likes of Marcelino Goma or even Hamaan. Stop acting like stupid Everton fans.

Optimistic Nut
Don't think his work ethic has been a problem, just his quality on the ball hasn't been the same.

He’s been somewhere between bang average and poor this season. By his standards and ability, anyway. As for the attitude stuff. It’s impossible to quantify. But plenty of people are saying it and I don’t disagree. He doesn’t look as interested, not working on and off the ball like last season, he seems more greedy in his decisions and like he is over-playing with the ball a lot of the time. Not sure how that makes us all ‘stupid Everton fans’ I don’t want to sell him. I’d just like us to get him back to the levels that saw him as our player of the season. He’d be a long way down the voting this season. Of our regular sort of 14-15 players. He’s a lot closer to the bottom than the top. Based on his overall performances. Gordon looks like fucking saint to me comparing to the likes of Marcelino Goma or even Hamaan. Stop acting like stupid Everton fans. He doesn't show the same attitude as last season, I look at the goal at Southampton away as an example where he did absolutely nothing to help the defence and imo cost us that goal, he cost us the goal at Arsenal the weekend, and on numerous occasions across the season has done zero tracking back and instead has opted to go down, take ages to get back up and then strolled back like it wasn't his job to defend. There's two answers for that- he's been told not to tactically, or his attitude has changed and I suspect it's the latter. If you cannot see that, that hasn't been happening then you need to look beyond him being a 'good' footballer and giving him the benefit of the doubt. Cause it absolutely has been happening. I'm not saying he needs sold or that he's shite - just that he clearly isn't motivated in the same way or playing his best and needs to get himself in the same head space he was in previously. Ridiculous calling folk 'stupid Everton fans' for pointing out clear and obvious elements to someone's mannerisms. I seem to recall him against Man City at home chasing back and tackling and getting into some great positions and really affecting the game. Perhaps as a result of the display for him in a rare occasion he did seem motivated in the right way this season. That's where we want him to be as often as possible again. Holloway
There's people on here that are experts on attitude, they can spot when a player isn't trying from 100 metres, didn't you know ?
Geogaddi
Nobody would be on his back half as much as this if he was simply just playing poorly or out of form. It's literally the fact that ever since his move to Liverpool fell through last summer his attitude has seemed all wrong, last season he never stopped running and pressing but this season it has been the exact opposite . It's his attitude not lack of form that he is rightly getting questioned for . Edited 51 minutes ago by Geogaddi

Abacus
I do think his treatment by Southgate has a bit to answer for as well, when it was obvious that England needed a left winger and he barely got a chance. Never quite got going at the start of the season after that. Maybe he was indeed just knackered given his great season prior to that and no real break. Saying all that, I wouldn't sell him either given the choice.

Saying all that, I wouldn't sell him either given the choice. Well Eddie has had no issue with recognising his talents and prior to red card and injury he was first name on the team sheet for LWF. If the lad is letting the summer effect his game this far down the line he needs some psychological support. I hope he isn’t playing for the move away. He’s always been none to shy of media interviews and has always come across well, yet he would be the first to explain poor form or attitude. I don’t think he’s had much to say regarding any of that lately?
McCormick
Storm in a teacup as always on here when a players’ form dips. Always looking for a scapegoat. He’s fine, just not reacting particularly well to this new notion of not being a nailed-on starter; Barnes was similar until he got an extended run in the team.
