Yeah, it’s complete bollocks. It’s conceivable that we could have sold Tripps in January, many have questioned the purchase of Barnes over other positions, Hall is out and Botman has missed most of the season.

If you just take away Tripps & Barnes from the squad we are massively weaker in the Cup Final & for what is a heavy fixture list.

The established clubs have a huge advantage in squad depth & a continued ability to strengthen across their best 11 & bench.

No love for Villa whatsoever but it's no coincidence that their attempt to disrupt the "big 6" has hit all the same snags we have. The main difference is that they've managed to make multiple big sales over the past few years and as a result have more squad depth than we do but the principle is the same - not allowed to spend the money to compete effectively on multiple fronts. They spent the money last summer to try it and they've done a pretty good job but now they're going to have the vultures circling as soon as the transfer window opens.

They've also got Disasi, Rashford and Asensio on loan, I don't know how many of those are locked-in transfers for 1st July but they could be looking at starting next season with a weaker squad than they end this one.

Thankfully the managers ability also counts for something and we have hit the money with Eddie!

So Villa are still going to breach PSR rules despite selling Diaby and Duran to Saudi Arabia for a combined ÂŁ120m, and also doing a couple of dodgy Anderson/Vlachodimos style swaps last summer. PSR is an absolute joke, if it weren't for Howe and Emery being fantastic coaches we'd be nowhere near challenging the top 4/5, it's ridiculous

I don't think the Duran sale is included in the set of accounts published. They won't fail it either they will sell the women's team or so some swap deal as they did before.

And yes, the game has been rigged unfortunately but both ourselves and villa are doing a great job and showing both the incompetence and complacency the incumbents have been displaying.

Surely Rashford and Asensio are on huge wages? This PSR shit is absolute bollocks but I'm sure Villa knew they were taking a calculated gamble signing those two in the hopes they got them champions league football again, progress further in this year's competition and help win the fa cup.

But if it comes back to bite them in terms of accounting then it's the risk they took.

In the same way I was hoping we would speculate to accumulate in January in the hopes it would boost our chances of finishing top 5 and winning a cup. Now it looks like we're in with a chance thankfully without spending and have already secured a trophy.
