There's an arguement that a full year training with an elite squad will help his development far more than being shipped out to the arse end of nowhere with a shite manager and shite teammates.

He's also only 17. He's still got time for a loan move in a years time.

Exactly. He's got 2-3 years where he can go on loan. If what toonjam has said is true and he's been told he'll be in and around the first team, there's no need for a loan. Look at Foden.

Not giving him a decent loan is a mistake imo. He needs a season of playing consistent men’s football

We need 4 home grown players for our Champions League squad, if he's good enough to play a part in that squad he's too valuable to let go on loan, home grown status is literally something that you can't buy.

Wouldn't need registering so Wouldn't take up one of the 25.

If he’s integrated into the first team, keep him around. I’ve got zero faith in the absolute fraud Ameobi finding him the best loan for his development. The day Ashworth shit cans him for someone equivalent to what Brighton have using styles of play and systems to determine the right match, is a good one.

At 17 though there's nothing wrong with him still playing U21 football here and training with the first team squad even if he wasn't getting many first team games.

For the PL yes but for the CL the 25 man squad has to include 4 players who have been at the club for at least 3 years between 15 and 21.

Other than him the only players we have in the first team squad that qualify are Longstaff and Anderson and Dummett (and that's almost certainly why Dummett is still at the club).

Yep, I think we might have a genuine talent there. I trust Eddie but don’t want one of the few remaining lickspittle legacies of the Ashley era, a ‘jobs for the boys’ appointment, ruining him through piss poor practices that went out of fashion a decade ago.

Like Ashley’s boot cut jeans, Ameobi should best be left in the past, an answer to a nice trivia question for scoring at the Nou Camp, not overseeing some of the club’s future diamonds. Same with Harper.

List A, no club can have more than 25 players. However, a club can register an unlimited number of players on List B, who are born on or after January 1, 2001.

Miley wouldn't take a list A spot.

But you don't need to register him anyway for CL. He would be on the B list until he's 21 along with Anderson (you can have as many of them as you want). If you don't have the 4 CG players you just name fewer players. For example Napoli only named 23 players in their January squad as they only had two home grown players. But you can still call up any U21 player you like as long as you name them on the limitless B list.

No inside info on transfers I know his Dad and that’s what they were told by Ashworth.

Any news on extracting his brother and Rigg from the dark side academy?

The 25 man A list needs to include at least 4 locally trained players, so in reality we will need to put him in the A list squad.

We would just leave the space open and register less than 25.  It is entirely moot, but it is exactly what will happen.

As said, you don't actually need to name 4 CG players. You can just leave the spots empty and have a smaller A list squad. Napoli had 3 at the start of the season (Husiak, Gaetano and Zanoli) so named a 24 man squad. Zanoli went out on loan in January in a swap for a more experienced player (Berezynski) and so they named a 23 man squad for the second half of the season.

The CG player requirements really are less of an issue when you can call up as many U21s as you like. Especially as you start building a quality youth/reserve set up.

Basically unless we sign a home grown goalkeeper we will almost certainly be naming a 23 man CL squad (With Longstaff and Dummett as the CG players). 22 if Dummett goes.

Anderson will be on the B list until the following season so doesn't get named.

We could buy Krul as backup gk

 what a timid lad.

Great to see him make an appearance and gutted that strike didn't go in.

You really can't underestimate the importance of having good physical attributes at this early stage. I know he's lanky but if he can be as strong as he is tall, it gives him a much better chance of making it in the Premier League.
