Optimistic Nut Posted Wednesday at 05:45 Share Posted Wednesday at 05:45 Still think he could do with a loan. Looked way off it on Monday when he came on. Do what Villa do, get a couple of loans in to fill the squad gaps, let him & Osula go and smash it for someone like Leicester & Southampton next year. Only costing Villa half a mill a week for their couple of loans.

I understand the sentiment but loans aren't free. In order to loan Miley out we would need to incur two additional loan fees plus wages which are likely much higher than Mileys. We need Eddie to give the lad more minutes as we don't have the option to loan him out imo.
Newcastle Fan Posted Wednesday at 07:04 Share Posted Wednesday at 07:04 I don't think he should be loaned out, he's already shown he's good enough to play for the first team, even played in the champions league and held his own, next year we will definitely have more games and it will be a chance to give him more minutes and continue his progress. Optimistic Nut Posted Wednesday at 08:10 Share Posted Wednesday at 08:10 I've always said I like the idea of keeping young players around rather than loans so they can train with the squad, feel involved, learn from Eddie, etc. with Miley though he's already had a run of senior games, played at the highest level. Just feel a season of regular football would be his natural next step.

If teams struggle they seem to sacrifice the young players for experience. Edited Wednesday at 08:44 by andycap
The College Dropout Posted Wednesday at 08:47 Share Posted Wednesday at 08:47 I would prefer he is loaned out and we get in a CM or two. He needs regular football we need a player close to the standard of Joelinton. If we only get Europa. He would get those Europa League games so he should stay. If we get CL we need to use the money to improve our quality in depth. 1 perm. 1 loan signing.

Optimistic Nut Posted Wednesday at 10:01 Share Posted Wednesday at 10:01 (edited) Who was the last young player we loaned to a PL club out of interest. Milner? Leeds would be a good move if they could guarantee him 20-25 starts or something. Again, I'd only loan him out if we could get a short term CM back up for a season. AyeDubbleYoo Posted Wednesday at 10:55 Share Posted Wednesday at 10:55 We're not in a position to be loaning out decent first team squad members like, that's before you even consider where you would loan him to.
joeyt Posted Wednesday at 11:00 Share Posted Wednesday at 11:00 Desperate to get some aggression into his game He often plays too safe, would love to see the shackles released from him
Sibierski Posted Wednesday at 11:03 Share Posted Wednesday at 11:03 Loaning him out would be the most stupid decision yet. Not only lose him for European places, but then have to replace him at a cost, then risk him not even playing on loan and confidence gone.

Sibierski Posted Wednesday at 11:11 Share Posted Wednesday at 11:11 Game time this season will be limited, as it will for all outside the core XI (Gordon/Barnes/Murphy only rotation). One game a week, it’ll be roll with near same XI and changes in final 10 unless game is dead and buried either way. Next season, depending how we finish, he could be needed first early games for Euro qualifying and starting several games by October. If we’re in UCL, he’s got to be trusted to start league games as rotation will be needed then.
