Why do we have to have seats behind the safe standing? Can we not do what the Jormans do and have a proper standing end without seats? Someone somewhere could calculate how many can safely enter and it would increase capacity and improve the atmosphere.

Agree. Standing was never a safety issue. Fences were the problem. Germans absolutely pack them in behind the goals at their grounds every week with no problems at all.

Actually standing in a seated area is more dangerous than standing on a safely designed terrace

Remember that game well, that chant seem to go on for about 20 minutes.

I was in the Milburn Paddock towards the Gallowgate.

It did easily! We had season tickets in the family enclosure back then. Atmosphere was just totally off the scale. Lindisfarne performing on the half built Leazes End pre match! 3 mins 53 secs of that video you even get a quick glimpse of the East Stand up out their seats singing and dancing. Imagine that these days!

Think that Leicester game is still my all time favourite. Just felt like we'd arrived!

What a night afterwards too. That Andy Cole song reverberated around the Bigg Market for half the night along with David Kelly ("scored a hat-trick on the Tele") and Robert Lee ("scored a goal on ITV").

Used to love it when the war cry went up.  Me and my mates used to try and do it when knocking about on our BMXs.  Even before our balls had dropped we could never nail it.  I always wondered if it was just one bloke doing it?

Finally found someone who sings the Blaydon Races faster than the Strawberry Corner.

They've almost managed to get the words right and all.  Better than what our fans sing, anyway.  I always hear Scotswood Road in the first verse and sometimes twice in the second

'Passing the folks along the road' is always replaced with an additional 'gannin along the Scotswood Road' at the match, no matter how stubbornly I stick to 'folks'.

Exactly! So it gets sung twice in the wrong place. I knew I wasn’t imagining it.

The warbler.  Used to sit in the East Stand block nearest the corner iirc

Aye, I used to sit with my Da and his mates in the benches front row on the Gallowgate 18 yard box - definitely upstairs above me!

Going to get this bad lad printed. Just need Herons help to sneak it above an entrance.

People might laugh but this is really important. Most songs only last one verse because people just can’t keep up.

I'm in the posh seats, so if I can hang it above my entrance all of the gallowgate and east stand (do they sing there?) can see it. #everylittlehelps

Considering we're beating Liverpool, the atmosphere is shocking

I thought it was pretty good tonight. Been better but people actually awake and making noise compared to west ham.

Away fans utterly silent after from a few songs after they scored.

Usually is against Liverpool for some reason even when we have beaten them - post KK.  The Pardew one, the Robert one's - none really stick in the memory as being good except the 3-0.

We've never beaten Liverpool 3-0 in the PL.
