Though I think there's some rose tinted specs going on here about the "old days"  (it has always been and probably always will be up and down depending on a variety of circumstances) the recent airings of "You've seen United now fuck off home" really is the nadir.

I thought there could never be a worse chant than "You're support is fucking shit" but I was wrong.

Back In the championship and crap prem season away days it felt like a day out, you'd just have lads at the game getting behind team regardless of result and looking forward to the same thing 2 weeks later.

 

I can remember so many days it was almost if ya don't laugh you'll cry..stoke away 4-1  etc. it wasn't about tagging in on social media your at the game it was simply a day out with your mates.

 

Half them nowadays go and if we aren't winning are muted and leave early....

Thought the atmosphere was really good v Arsenal in the semi at home, so hopefully we can get that going at Wembley. There seemed to be a lot of encouragement for people to make a good atmosphere before, and it worked.

Maybe, but they’ve songs like Fields of Anfield Road, A Liverbird On My Chest and Old Scouser Tommy that have been sung for years. Our lot can’t even be arsed to sing Blaydon Races properly.

People also sing 'gannin along the Scotswood Road' again in the chorus where it should be 'passing the folks along the road'. I persist with 'folks' every time and I never hear people around me sing anything other than 'Scotswood Road'

My Grandma used to sing me Blaydon Races, Keep Your Feet Still Geordie Hinny and some others I’ve forgotten. So even as a dirty southerner. I get annoyed that nobody seems to know the words. 
 

I remember arguing with a Geordie taxi driver who was adamant ‘Collingwood Street isn’t in the Blaydon Races.’ I suddenly doubted myself and then had to check and show him it on my phone. 
 

Good job it’s not still there. His fares would be ending up at Redcar instead.
