Good stuff, the monthly ASM pile on based on pure speculation and guesswork.

Based on what we saw surely, a substitution following a poor performance both on and as importantly for Howe, off the ball.

Yeah he had to for the sake of the team. We may well find out over the coming weeks with Gordon back and Howe seemingly increasing want to give Anderson game time.

The sake of the team that just scored with ASM heavily involved? Or because he was genuinely injured?

Was he particularly poor v Wolves or Forest?

If anything, the lack of a start at City was more telling than anything.

Apart from Longstaff in the cup final I can barely remember Howe taking off someone at half time. And that was because we were 2 down

We sat through about a dozen lacklustre performances from Wilson yet he didn't get taken off

Even his usual defenders on here were saying he was poor. You know what I can not remember who gave Willock the ball to cross for the penalty, if it had been Maxi it would be rammed to death about how integral he'd been in the move. You can play a decent pass and still have a poor, lacklustre game.

You think our manager was lying about his injury despite ASM having a key contribution to the goal and Howe said himself he was being effective

You must be so naive.  Of course Eddie would hot come out and slag him off.  Eddie Howe is the utmost professional.  He's not lying, he's being cute and clever.  No matter your love in with Maxi, he was woeful on Friday and the suggested "hamstring" was a get out by the coaching staff.

Much better V Wolves than he was at Forest.

The hamstring is possibly slightly true. At this stage of the season I'd guess most of the regular starters have muscular niggles etc but for me, I just thought he looked disinterested throughout.

Nobody is "piling on".  I have already said that I am the first one to defend Maxi.  However, his display on Friday was shocking.  Yes ..... shocking.

I'd anonymous more than shocking. He wasn't wasteful on the ball or anything. He was just barely involved.

Do you think he'd really say he was crap, looked disinterested and played one decent pass that we'd barely had noticed if we hadn't scored.

ASM was awful I agree, but there's no way Howe would have said he had a hamstring injury unless he genuinely had one. I'm actually one of the more vocal critics of ASM on here, I don't rate his penchant for hanging onto the ball too long, but Howe isn't going to lie about an injury.

Could we agree with "disinterested"?  Because I saw a team buzzing all over and totally dominate the opposition then witnessed Maximin not even bothering.  I'm telling you and everyone else that was the reason Jones went off it and why we saw Anderson on the pitch in the second half.

Sorry I've not been reading the majority of this thread, so not sure what's going in here. Howe said he wasn't right and had a tight hamstring  hence why he was subbed off after contributing to our equaliser?

Yeah like I said he possibly has a slight issue, I'd guess most of the regular starters have.

It's getting like you can tell in the first 5mins which Maxi has turned up. Now don't get me wrong, even a disinterested Maxi is capable of suddenly becoming the Maxi that we love for a bit but now we have others who we dont have to wait to see and hope they turn it on for 5mins.

Great argument you put across.  How old are you?

Okay I'll bite:

Howe doesn't make half time substitutions when the game is in the balance

He'd just been involved in our goal

Howe moved him up front to avoid straining the hamstring further but Howe said he felt he was still being effective in the game so didn't want to take him off

We know ASM is always picking up injuries

What's your argument based on?

Yes but Eddie ...... I give up.  Are you lot winding me up?  Your manager is not going to come out and say "I decided to put on a 20 year old on because Maxi was shite".  What he might say is "Maxi had a tight hamstring".  Now do you understand?

I'm guessing that clip of Jones being angry and Rod second guessing what was being said.
