If you're the exemplary man you say you are, then set the standard - don't be the problem.

I'm not judging, I'm just so tired of the "joke that's not a joke".

The unneeded dig aside, I'm far from exemplary, a long way from it, but as you age you learn.

I will still joke about everything and everyone, use the ignore button if you find those too much.

What's the craic with the Spanish manager?

Loads of players boycotted this tournament because they don't like his coaching methods but he's managed to win the World Cup without them. So his coaching methods have been justified? Or is there more to it than that

Can’t remember what I was listening to but heard him described as an over controlling and overbearing partner with the players, not respecting their personal boundaries, as well as being a shit coach compared to what they were used to with their clubs (specifically Barca).

Hmm, I mean he's just won the world cup with 15 players boycotting it. Surely he must feel he can say he's a pretty good coach

Jesus, poor woman. The emotional whiplash you'd get from the high of winning it to getting that news, brutal.

That's heartbreaking, you can only feel so much love for her, poor lass.

they were fucking outstanding today, won it with the best player in the world recovering from ACL too. Not even a clue who these 15 were boycotting but they looked immense today.

Horrific that, can't even begin to imagine the emotional state she'd have been in.

He died on Friday but they decided not to tell her until after the game so it wouldn't affect her performance.

Probably important to note that the "they" here is her family, in case anyone thought it was the Spanish FA.

Nike going to sell a limited number of Mary Earps shirts. Might be worth trying to get one of those.

Hopefully it sells massively and makes them look even more stupid.

Tempted to get a Hemp 11 one actually as she impressed me so much :D seems the men's kit and the women's is the same design this year as far as I can tell so that makes sizing easier

I'm sure they did a men's version of the women's WC kit too.

I was struggling to find it, I think they did them special during the Euros because the kit was different for the men's and women's teams but the design is the same this year? Not sure though

It's a different shirt for the men and the women, but you can get a 'mens fit' of the womes shirt. Think a website called Foudys has them in stock

He's lost the plot now! Refusing to stand down, and basically making out he's the victim and getting a standing ovation for doing so!

Shows that the players who stood down before the world cup had good reason  as there are clearly issues running right though the organisation!

Obviously I'm gutted England lost, but I hate even more that these people are using winning the world cup as justification of their behaviour!

Wasn't it because he kissed a player without consent during the celebrations? Many were calling for him to resign because of that.

I think it runs a lot deeper than that, but the fact he did that on the world stage in front of all the cameras has empowered the players to call for him to resign. The whole organisation seems horrific!!

Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has joined the calls for Rubiales to resign from his position, and Rubiales was absent from the celebrations in Madrid on arrival. One of the things which was working in Rubiales’ favour was a statement put out by Hermoso, declaring that she had an excellent relationship with Rubiales, and that it was a mutual show of affection.

Only those were not her words. According to Natalia Torrente of Relevo, the Communications department for the Spanish women’s national team wrote and put out that statement, which speaks in first person of Hermoso’s relationship with Rubiales. The statement was put out to the press, reported widely, and not corrected by the RFEF.

The attempts to calm the situation did not stop there. On Monday Rubiales appeared in an apology, claiming that it was again insignificant for both of them, that it was without bad intentions on either part, and that he had to learn from the incident.

Those words make much more sense when it is revealed that Rubiales tried to convince Hermoso to appear in a joint apology. Relevo’s reporting goes on to detail how Rubiales asked in front of other players, family and staff if she would join him in a video statement, which she rejected. Rubiales acknowledged that his job was on the line, and that he needed her support, something which was turned down by the footballer in front of numerous people ahead of their flight back to Madrid.

They even put out a fake statement from Hermoso.[emoji38]

Equate it to the woks Christmas do and the gaffer comes over to the table, grabs your lass by the face and hoys the lips on her.

Do you

a) put him on his arse

b) grab his face and hoy the lips on him

c) Wait until 9am Monday and report him to HR

Brings back memories of me Dad coming around one Sunday for the family scran fest. Apart from the fact he's a Leslie Philips/Carry On tribute act he used to bring loads of tubes of Fruit Pastilles or Smarties* for the kids/lasses. ( * if it was Werthers I wouldn't let him in the house let alone near the kids, obvs ?

Anyways he went to put a tube of pastilles down Mrs G's top and the whole room just went silent. I honestly thought his days were ended ???

Daft old 70s throwback, that he is.

"The federation also said that, if selected, players have "an obligation" to play for the national team, after 81 female players said they will not represent Spain until Rubiales is removed from his post."

And yet the federation is choosing war. I'm sure they want to play for the national team now! Rubiales must be a narcissist, putting himself over everything. I saw a clip from his speech, he's speaking like a narcissist aswell.
