Who was it that said a couple of months back that Longstaff was just as good as him? Heron maybe??

Never said that. Said on numerous occasions he was more talented only that I trusted Howe judgement at the time and that I could understand why he was being used ahead of Tonali at that period in time.

Seemed like the only one who could put in a tackle and win possession when he came on. Put the others to shame.

It's crazy to think how strong and important he feels now. You watching him last night compared to Longstaff and remember it was only a few months ago you had plenty on here arguing that Longstaff should be playing ahead of him. I get that it wasn't this version of Sandro we were seeing but imagine saying that now. He's integral to our spine now along with Isak.

He is. I still stand by what I said at the time for that period of time though. It's easy to make those remarks in retrospect as it's all entirely theoretical.

Not first priority but I would love to see us add a very good LCM to play with Sandro and Bruno. One that is very good  on the ball and in general play.

Didn’t score many points but that Dembele who used to play for Tottenham would have been the profile I’d be looking at. The Belgian player. Or similar attributes.  Miley is a great talent but not property ready quite yet

Samuele Ricci (Torino FC)....He can play anywhere in midfield ! Smart, elegant and very technical player... with 35/40 million you can take him and in two years its valuation will be at least double, trust me. Barella is a great player but he's not that young, he costs a lot and above all he does not fit your style of play. Reijnders would be another perfect player for you but he costs as much as two Ricci and if Milan sold him the Americans should escape from Milano chased by the fans.

Sounds like you are already bidding for him:

Newcastle and Man City previously linked with him.

Yes, Milan and Inter want him but he is perfect for English football and with Tonali next to him on the pitch they would make a stellar midfield.

Aye aye. Everyone gets things wrong now and then.

Like at the start of December when you said Howe was incapable of fixing our performances before we went on a 9 game winning run and qualified for 2nd cup final in 3 years.

One thing Howe does best is protect players mentally, especially when bedding in new, big money, talented signings. He knew Sandro was elite and has built that confidence in him, while also finding his best position and utilization on the pitch.

Character building from wor Eddie is outstanding and you were right to say what you did at the time.

I didn’t say that, and I never said I wanted him sacked either, like some who liked the post. [emoji38]

I just think perhaps on a football forum it should be safe space for people to make the odd irrational comment or emotional post, especially in match threads, without fear of some nob head dragging up posts 6 month down the line.

Ive regularly questioned Howes subs for instance, but I wouldn't use it as a barometer for my overall view on him. I adore the bloke.

Let's try and not score points lads, let's leave the scoring to the strikers, for example Andy Cole or Jermaine Beckford. :aww:
